A rechargeable table fan’s runtime depends mainly on its model and the speed you use. Manufacturer specifications reviewed for this guide range from about 1.5–2 hours on high for one fan to as much as 15 hours in quiet mode for another. Those are product-specific claims, not a controlled comparison or a promise for every fan. For a useful estimate, check the exact model’s runtime at the setting you expect to use.
How many hours does a rechargeable table fan run?
There is no single runtime for rechargeable table fans. The figures below are manufacturers’ stated runtimes for named products; the fans differ, so the numbers should not be read as a direct cross-brand endurance test.

Use these examples to see how widely claims can vary, not to predict how long an unlisted fan will run. If a manufacturer gives only an “up to” figure, treat it as a best-case claim rather than the expected duration at every speed.
What affects runtime?
Fan speed and operating mode
Higher airflow settings commonly have shorter stated runtimes than quiet or low settings. Firefly lists 10 hours in quiet mode and 4 hours on high for its FEL6119; Rico lists up to 10 hours on low and up to 4 hours on high for its RF2512. These are model-specific specifications, not a universal ratio. If you need a fan to last through a particular stretch of time, compare the figure for the speed you will actually use.

Battery capacity is only one part of the picture
A battery’s milliamp-hour (mAh) rating is useful context, but it does not determine runtime by itself. Firefly’s cited desk fan has a 4000mAh battery and listed runtimes of 4–10 hours, depending on mode. Xiaomi’s 4000mAh mini fan reports a much longer low-speed result and a shorter high-speed result. Differences in the fan, motor, settings and test setup mean equal mAh figures do not guarantee equal operating time.
Test conditions and enabled features
Check whether a runtime claim specifies a full charge, oscillation, lights or other features, and the conditions under which the test was performed. Xiaomi reports 18 hours 33 minutes at speed 1 without oscillation after a full charge, measured at 25°C, 57.14% relative humidity and 102.44 kPa. It reports 3 hours 54 minutes at speed 4 without oscillation after a full charge, measured at 35°C, 50% relative humidity and 101.3 kPa. Because the environments differed as well as the speeds, these two results do not isolate speed as the only reason for the runtime difference. The figures are Xiaomi claims citing Xingyue Research Laboratory tests, identified as 20220228 and 20220720 (2022).

Power source and product design
Some fans support AC/DC operation, while others are intended for portable, battery-powered use. Check what “runtime” refers to for the exact model, and whether its stated duration applies to battery operation. Do not assume a fan can run while charging or accept power from a USB power bank unless its specifications say so.
How to compare runtime claims before buying
- Find the exact model’s manual or product page. Similar-looking fans can have different batteries and motors, so a figure for another model is not a reliable substitute.
- Look for runtime by speed or mode. Compare quiet/low, medium and high settings against how you intend to use the fan. A single maximum runtime does not tell you how long it lasts on high.
- Read the test setup attached to the figure. Note whether the fan was fully charged and whether oscillation, lights or other functions were used; retain any stated test-environment qualifications when comparing claims.
- Use battery capacity as supporting information, not a runtime estimate. Compare capacity alongside setting-specific runtime and the product’s stated power mode.
- Confirm charging and battery details that matter to your use. Check whether the battery is built in or replaceable where stated, and whether the fan supports the charging or power-input method you plan to use.
How much runtime should you expect?
Use the exact model’s stated runtime at your intended setting as the best available estimate, while recognizing that manufacturer claims are not independent, standardized comparisons across brands. If the product page gives only a best-case maximum or omits test conditions, it does not establish how long the fan will run at a different speed or setup.
