A phone with a built-in 10,000mAh battery might run for roughly 12 hours of continuous gaming or more than 40 hours of video playback in manufacturers’ published examples—but there is no standard runtime for every phone. The result depends on the phone, the task and the test conditions. If you mean a 10,000mAh power bank, its rating does not translate directly into the same capacity inside your phone.
How long can a 10,000mAh phone battery last?
Published figures from two phone makers show how much runtimes can differ by activity. OPPO lists about 40.3 hours of online video, 15 hours of MOBA gaming and 14.7 hours of video calling for its A7 Pro Max 5G, as well as 39 days of standby. Blackview lists 21 hours of web use, 12 hours of gaming, 43 hours of calls, 45 hours of music and 21 days of standby for its FORT 1.

These are manufacturer claims for specific models, not a controlled comparison or a promise for every 10,000mAh phone. Blackview says its figures come from lab tests based on continuous use and that actual use may vary. OPPO describes several usage figures as approximate. Standby figures describe a very different situation from using the screen, apps or mobile data. They should not be used to estimate how long the phone will last during active use.

Why the same capacity can produce different runtimes
mAh describes charge capacity, not how many hours a phone will run. Runtime depends on how much power the phone uses over time. The display, processor workload, network conditions, background activity and settings can all affect consumption. A screen-off standby test is not comparable to gaming, video playback or browsing.
When comparing phones, match the activity: video with video, gaming with gaming and web use with web use. Also check the stated network and test conditions where available. The OPPO and Blackview figures above are useful examples of scale, but they are not results from a standardized cross-brand test.

If you mean a 10,000mAh power bank
A power bank’s 10,000mAh rating does not mean it will deliver 10,000mAh at the phone’s battery voltage. mAh measures charge at a particular voltage; watt-hours (Wh) express energy. Energy is calculated as ampere-hours multiplied by voltage. During charging, energy is lost as the power bank converts voltage for USB output and the phone’s charging circuitry converts it again.

TP-Link illustrates the difference with a 10,400mAh bank rated at 3.7V: that is about 38Wh. At 5V, its theoretical output is 7,696mAh; applying 90% discharge efficiency at 1A gives an estimated 6,926mAh. That is a worked example for a particular older TP-Link bank, not a universal efficiency factor, and phone-side conversion losses further reduce the energy reaching the phone battery. So a simple division of the bank’s mAh by the phone’s mAh will overstate how many full charges to expect. The actual number depends on the bank’s usable output and the phone, as well as the charging setup. Huawei identifies remaining bank charge, phone battery capacity, cable quality and charging environment as relevant variables. (Huawei Support: power-bank charge estimates)
Why published charge counts vary
Manufacturers’ examples reinforce that a charge count is specific to the devices and conditions involved. Xiaomi reports that lab tests of its 10,000mAh Mi Power Bank yielded 2.1 full charges for a Mi Note and 3.5 for an iPhone 6, and cautions that actual use may vary. Belkin, for its part, claims its 10,000mAh BoostCharge BPB021 can provide 43 hours of playback for an iPhone 15 Pro. That is a power-bank vendor claim about playback with a specific setup—not the runtime of a phone with a 10,000mAh internal battery. (Belkin BoostCharge BPB021)

What to check before relying on a runtime or charge estimate
- For a phone: look for a figure for the activity you actually do, and note whether it is a manufacturer estimate or a lab result.
- For a power bank: compare watt-hours or rated usable output where available, not just the mAh number; check its output protocol and power.
- For a charge count: account for the target phone’s battery, the bank’s remaining charge, cable and charging environment.
- For either claim: treat vendor figures as model- and condition-specific, not a guarantee for another device or use pattern.
