Red tags score for your team; blue tags deny the opposing team a point. Because tags can be exposed in dangerous areas, knowing when to collect them matters as much as winning the fight.
How scoring works
Every eliminated player drops a dog tag. Collecting tags turns an elimination into a team-score opportunity.

- Red tag: Dropped by an eliminated enemy. Collecting it scores a point for your team and adds score toward your Scorestreaks.

The official Black Ops 6 Kill Confirmed guide, published October 23, 2024, describes public matches as using a default target of 75 enemy tags. If time expires before a team reaches the target, the team with the most collected tags wins.

Why collecting tags takes timing
A tag can be left in the open after a fight, and an opponent may be watching it to catch someone who rushes in. Before crossing an exposed area, deal with nearby threats or use tactical equipment such as smoke, concussion, or flash equipment to make the pickup safer.

Staying near teammates helps in two ways: an ally may collect a tag if you cannot safely reach it, and more players nearby can make it harder for the enemy to claim it. If you use traps or equipment to secure an elimination, remain close enough to recover the resulting tags rather than treating the elimination as the whole objective.
Practical priorities during a match
- Check both tag colors. Red tags advance your team’s score; blue tags prevent the other team from scoring. Consider either pickup when it is safe.
- Assess the route before moving. Look for opponents covering the tag and clear the threat or use tactical equipment before crossing open ground.
- Fight with a teammate when possible. Teammates can help secure eliminations and recover tags left after the fight.
- Choose weapons for the fight you expect. The official guide suggests shotguns and SMGs for close-range engagements around tags, while noting that long-range threats remain. This is in-game guidance, not an independent weapon-performance test.
Standard Kill Confirmed and Face Off Kill Confirmed
Face Off is a variant, not a guarantee of a separate playlist being available at any particular time. The official multiplayer overview says featured playlists change regularly, so access depends on the live rotation.
