Urlbox lets an agency capture a client website from a URL as a rendered image, then use that image to review copy, design changes, responsive layouts or a specific page section. For recurring or automated work, use its API; for a list of URLs and a compiled report without building an integration, use CaptureDeck. Consistent URL, viewport and loading conditions make before-and-after captures easier to compare.
What Urlbox does—and which workflow to choose
Urlbox is a web-rendering service: it renders a URL or HTML and returns a screenshot or other output. It is not a physical screenshot device. Its documentation names “Preview different headlines / copy on your clients’ websites” as a use case, alongside responsive sanity checks. A screenshot records how a page rendered under chosen conditions; it does not by itself assess SEO quality, conversion performance or accessibility.

Use the API for repeatable agency workflows
An API-based workflow suits recurring captures, automation, or sending image outputs into an agency’s own reporting system. Urlbox documents render links and API requests, including synchronous and asynchronous patterns; its product page lists SDKs for several languages. Review the current documentation for the exact request syntax and available options before integrating.

CaptureDeck is Urlbox’s bulk screenshot product. It is a practical route when a team has a list of pages and wants compiled PDF, ZIP or CSV outputs without first building an API integration. The choice is about workflow—integrated requests versus list-based capture—not a claim that one route is always cheaper or better.

Plan the client capture before rendering
Choose the page and state
- Copy or headline review: capture the relevant landing page before and after the proposed change.
- Mobile review: choose a mobile-sized viewport that reflects the view the client wants to inspect.
- Long landing page: use full-page mode when the entire scrollable page matters.
- Single component: capture a hero, banner or other component using its CSS selector.
For a useful comparison, note the exact URL and page state—such as whether a test version or a particular campaign variant is loaded—before making either capture. Urlbox’s documentation establishes these general capture modes and the client copy-preview use case; it does not establish an India-specific marketer case study.
Choose the capture route and output
Use the API when captures need to recur or flow into existing systems. Use CaptureDeck when the immediate job is to capture a URL list and package results as a report. Decide whether the recipient needs an image or a compiled PDF, ZIP or CSV, and check the chosen route’s current limits, features and storage options before committing to a recurring process.

Set capture conditions for a useful review
Match the capture mode to the question
- Viewport capture: shows the selected device-sized view, useful for a targeted desktop or mobile review.
- Full-page capture: covers the scrollable page. Urlbox documents a default stitched method that scrolls the page to trigger lazy-loaded content. Fixed or sticky headers and footers can therefore appear more than once in the stitched result; inspect it before sharing.
- Element capture: targets one component using a CSS selector when the review is about a specific section rather than the whole page.
Control loading and overlays
Set the viewport width and height deliberately. Urlbox’s official product material lists delay or wait behavior and options to handle popups or cookie banners. A wait can help when page content appears after initial load; overlay handling can make a record easier to read. Use those controls only when the resulting page state is appropriate to the review: a cookie notice or popup may itself be the experience the client needs to assess.
Recommended Free Tools
For a before-and-after comparison, keep the URL, viewport, page state, wait conditions and relevant overlay treatment the same. This is a consistency recommendation based on Urlbox’s documented controls, not a claim about a test result. If a difference appears, first check whether a capture setting or loading state changed before attributing it to the design or copy.
Review, retain and share the screenshots
Inspect before sending
- Confirm the intended URL and viewport are visible in the result.
- Check that delayed or lazy-loaded sections appeared as expected.
- For stitched full-page images, look for repeated sticky headers or footers.
- Check whether overlays were kept or removed in line with the purpose of the review.
Plan retention and access
Urlbox’s quickstart says an API key and secret are needed for its example request. It also explains that users should download a render or configure cloud-bucket storage if they want to keep the image. Decide where client deliverables belong, who can access them and how long they should be retained before scheduling repeated captures. Client consent, confidentiality, retention and regulatory duties depend on the applicable agreement and policy; the product material does not determine them.

What Indian buyers should verify
Urlbox advertises geographic-origin selection and coverage across more than 200 countries. That is a vendor claim; it does not establish that a particular Indian city is selectable, that a client site will allow a request from the selected origin, or that the result matches a visitor using a local device and ISP. The reviewed sources do not establish India-specific billing, payment methods, foreign-exchange costs, local support coverage or regional performance. Confirm the relevant location and billing details with Urlbox and the purchaser’s payment provider.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can Urlbox take a screenshot of only one section of a client page?
Yes. Its documentation shows element capture using a CSS selector; use it when the review concerns one component rather than the whole page.
