Google Play says it can personalize game and app recommendations, offers, and search results using Play activity, information about Play content, and details in your Google Account. That activity can include searches, app use, viewed app pages, and Google Play Games-related activity—not just games you installed. You can manage Play personalization and Play History, but those controls do not cover every kind of data or tailoring.
Why is Google Play recommending these games?
Google describes recommendations as one part of personalization across Play, alongside offers and search results. Its examples include apps you previously installed and activity connected with Play. Google Play Console says the store may use collected information, such as previously installed apps, to generate personalized recommendations in a “For You” cluster. Google Play Console Help

Google’s public documentation does not disclose a complete list of recommendation inputs or a formula for ranking games for an individual account. It gives examples of possible signals, but does not establish how much weight the system gives game time, genres, friends, purchases, ratings, or any other particular factor.
What activity and information may be used?
Play History can include Play searches, app usage, and app detail pages you view. When the relevant app-usage setting is enabled, it may also include information shared by apps. That means game recommendations are not necessarily based only on which games you downloaded. The documentation identifies categories and examples, not every signal used to choose a particular recommendation.
How to manage personalization and Play History
Google documents controls for Play personalization and history on the web and in the Android Play Store. Labels and availability can differ between interfaces, so use the route that matches where you access Play.

- On the web: Go to play.google.com, select your profile picture, then choose Personalization in Play.
- In the Android Play Store: Tap your profile picture, choose Personalization in Play, then Play personalization and history.
From these settings, you can review Play History and manage whether it includes Play activity and app usage. Google also documents options for managing categories of data, device details, and individual Play content. Google Play Help for Android

Play personalization, Play History, and Play Games profiles are different controls
These settings address related but distinct things. Turning off personalization limits the use of account information for personalized Play experiences; Play History settings address whether certain activity is saved in Play History. Play Games profile activity is managed separately.

What turning personalization off does—and does not—mean
Turning off Play personalization does not guarantee that all recommendations or other Play experiences stop being tailored. Google says Play may continue tailoring them using information such as your device, country, and installed apps. Similarly, turning off Play History does not mean all activity stops being collected or processed: Google says some processing may continue for purposes described in its Privacy Policy. If your aim is to limit personalized recommendations, use the Play personalization control. If you also want to manage saved Play activity, review Play History separately. For Play Games profile activity, use that profile’s privacy settings; one control is not a substitute for the others.
