Godmode Bot’s developer says its browser agent can fill in passwords and two-factor codes without placing those values in the model’s context. That is a claim about how credentials are handled—not proof that the agent cannot misuse an account or that the software has passed an independent security review.
What Godmode Bot is—and what its developer claims
In a developer article published September 27, 2026, Daniel Ehrhardt describes Godmode Bot as an open-source AI coworker paired with a managed Chromium browser and stored logins and 2FA codes. He says the agent can complete tasks such as signing into a billing portal and downloading an invoice. His central claim is: “The model never sees any of those secrets.” That is the author’s description of the design, not an independently verified security finding.

The distinction matters: keeping a password out of a model prompt does not by itself establish how credentials are stored, what appears in screenshots or logs, or what an agent can do after it is signed in. The available account of Godmode Bot does not establish those protections through a security audit or reproduced test.
How the reported credential flow works
The article names two vault tools, vault_fill_login and vault_fill_totp. It says the tools fill login and time-based one-time password values into the browser page over CDP (Chrome DevTools Protocol), rather than returning the secret values to the model.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
The author reports that users can import passwords from Chrome, 1Password, Bitwarden, Apple Passwords, or Firefox, and import 2FA accounts using a screenshot of a Google Authenticator export QR code. The article also says multiple accounts are supported. These are reported capabilities; compatibility and the handling of imported data have not been independently checked here.
Credential isolation is not the same as a safe agent
Even if the password and 2FA code are kept out of the model’s context, an agent that controls a logged-in browser may still use the account’s existing session. It may be able to navigate, download, submit, or change information within the permissions available to that session. Separately, its runtime may have access to other machine resources.

Ehrhardt discloses that agent turns run Claude Code with bypass permissions and no permission prompts. He advises treating the agent as a trusted coworker with access to the machine, and suggests using a virtual machine or container for sensitive setups. The credential-isolation claim should therefore not be read as a promise of limited actions, host protection, or human approval before consequential steps.
What the article says about deployment and agent history
The post describes a Tauri 2 desktop app for macOS, Windows, and Linux, as well as a headless option for a server, NAS, or Raspberry Pi with a web dashboard. It says browser-use drives managed Chromium and Claude Code supplies the reasoning engine.

It also describes persistent agents with individual instructions, memory, schedules, histories, and repositories. Runs are said to be committed for review or rollback, and raw event logs are described as redacted. These details come from the developer article; the project’s official documentation, current release, and implementation were not independently verified.
How to evaluate the security claim before relying on it
For any browser agent that handles authenticated accounts, check the full credential path—not just whether a password is absent from the prompt:

- Secret exposure: Determine whether passwords, TOTP codes, seeds, or session cookies can appear in prompts, tool results, screenshots, browser traces, or logs.
- Storage and control: Find out where credentials are stored, what encrypts them, who controls the encryption key, and how imports and backups work.
- Authentication boundaries: Establish whether 2FA and CAPTCHA require a person or can be handled unattended, and what happens when authentication fails.
- Runtime access: Check the agent’s permissions on the host and in the browser, and whether it runs in a separate VM or container.
- Review and recovery: Verify which actions are recorded, whether records redact sensitive values, and whether rollback actually reverses external actions such as account changes or submitted transactions.
- Deployment and maintenance: Confirm supported platforms, update practices, and the exact project version before following setup or security instructions.
These questions apply to browser agents generally; they should not be taken as proof that Godmode Bot implements any particular control beyond the claims attributed above.

How this approach compares with documented alternatives
Other projects describe credential protections for their own browser workflows, but those details do not establish how Godmode Bot works. For example, agent-browser’s project documentation describes an optional encrypted local auth vault and says its auth flow keeps passwords out of the LLM. Open Assistant’s browser-session security guide explains that saved cookies act as bearer credentials and says its runtime keeps cookie values out of prompts and tool results. Vibatchium’s repository describes its own vault, unattended TOTP and IMAP support, and screenshot and log protections.

- Transfer Files in Seconds: Move files to and from your laptop at speeds of up to 5 Gbps via the USB-C and USB-A data ports. Note: The USB C 5Gbps Data port does not support video output.
- HD Display: Connect to the HDMI port to stream or mirror content to an external monitor in resolutions of up to 4K@30Hz. Note: The USB-C ports do not support video output.
- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
When comparing systems, assess the same things in each project’s own documentation: what secrets can reach the model or logs, how credentials are stored, what 2FA requires, how much runtime access the agent receives, what can be audited or rolled back, and where the software can run. A control documented for one project should not be assumed to exist in another.
