Most Wanted is a single-player roguelike combat-survival mode in Ghost of Yōtei. Choose a bounty, fight through enemy waves and minibosses, shape your build with perks, and face a final boss. Runs award Mon, which you can spend between runs on techniques, weapon upgrades, charms, and character unlocks. Cosmetics earned in the mode also unlock in the main game.
What is Most Wanted in Ghost of Yōtei?
Most Wanted is a separate mode built around repeatable bounty challenges. Sucker Punch describes it as its spin on a roguelike: each run combines combat encounters with choices that change your approach as you progress. The official PlayStation mode page and developer announcement describe the bounty structure, run perks, and between-run progression.

How does a Most Wanted run work?
- Choose a bounty. The bounty board offers targets connected to members of the Yōtei Six. Each challenge leads through enemy waves and minibosses toward a final boss.
- Select perks as you advance. Completing waves brings perk choices that can affect weapon mastery, gear loadouts, summons, parries, or survivability. These are in-run decisions, so they shape the current attempt.
- Defeat the bounty’s final boss. Bounties can be replayed at progressively higher difficulty. The published descriptions identify Lord Saitō’s bounty as the hardest endpoint.
- Spend Mon between runs. Runs award Mon for purchasing techniques, weapon upgrades, charms, and character unlocks. This persistent mode spending is separate from the temporary perks chosen during a run.
Which characters can you play as?
The official mode page lists four playable characters. Atsu is the default; the others unlock by completing runs. Each character starts with a katana and has additional signature weapons, abilities, an Ultimate, and a Kill Streak.

These kits offer different tools rather than a documented ranking. For example, consider whether you prefer ranged weapons, crowd control, summons, or assassination options. The official descriptions do not establish which character wins more often or is objectively strongest.

The official descriptions confirm cosmetic carryover; they do not say that temporary run perks or all mode progression transfer to the campaign.

PlayStation lists Most Wanted as part of Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition for PS5, and its mode page indicates digital and physical editions. Sucker Punch also documented a Complete Edition Upgrade for existing owners.
