Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteTo set a Slack status on Android, tap your profile picture, open the status field, enter a message, optionally add an emoji, choose when it should clear, and tap Done. You can change or remove it later from the same profile menu.
Set a status in Slack for Android
- Open Slack and tap your profile picture.
- Tap the status field.
- Enter the message you want teammates to see.
- Optionally tap the emoji icon to choose an emoji, or select one of the suggested statuses if your workspace offers them.
- Tap Clear after and choose when the status should be removed.
- Tap Done to save.
A status can be text, an emoji, or both. Slack displays the selected emoji next to your name; if you do not select one, Slack says a speech balloon appears by default. Workspace owners and admins can customize the suggested status options.

Change or remove your status
Tap your profile picture, then tap your current status to edit it. To remove it immediately, open the same profile area and tap Clear. Use Clear after when you want a status to expire automatically rather than remain until you remove it.
Status is different from availability
A status is a message describing what you are doing. Availability is the active or away indicator shown as a dot next to your name. They are separate controls: you can write a status and separately set your availability, or allow Slack to determine availability automatically. Slack says members can manually set themselves active or away from the mobile profile menu.

Emoji, scheduled statuses, and other limits
Choose an existing emoji, but do not expect to add a custom one in Android
The status editor lets you select an existing emoji. Adding a new custom emoji is a different task: Slack’s Help Center says custom emoji cannot currently be added from the Slack Android app. See Slack’s custom emoji instructions for the documented details.
Scheduling is not the same as choosing an expiration
Clear after sets when the status you are editing should disappear. Slack also documents scheduled statuses with future start and end times, but the procedure it provides is desktop-oriented; do not assume every scheduling control is available in the Android app.

Out-of-office status is an organization-specific workflow
Slack documents a dedicated out-of-office status workflow for Enterprise Grid organizations, including calendar syncing with Google Calendar or Outlook Calendar. That specialized feature is separate from setting an ordinary status in the Android app. See Slack’s out-of-office status guidance.

Consider who may see your status
Depending on workspace or Enterprise Grid settings, people from other organizations may be able to see your status in externally shared channels. Avoid including sensitive personal details in a status.
