Samsung’s instructions cover the first—not a general teardown of the shell. The battery-cover design varies by model, so check the model number on your remote and follow its manual before trying to open it.
First identify what “open” means
If you need to replace batteries, open only the battery compartment using the design-specific method below. That is different from splitting the remote’s main housing. Samsung’s support instructions do not provide steps for internal disassembly, repair, or reassembly, so they should not be treated as a teardown guide.

Find the remote’s model number and consult its user manual for the exact procedure. Samsung notes that opening instructions depend on the model. Samsung Gulf’s battery-cover guidance describes several designs; it does not establish that every Samsung remote opens the same way.

How to open the battery cover by design

These are the designs and battery specifications in Samsung Gulf’s instructions. Match the procedure to your remote rather than choosing a method by appearance alone. Use the battery type shown in the compartment or in the manual; AA and AAA batteries are not interchangeable.

BN59-01346A Smart Remote
For the Samsung Smart Remote model BN59-01346A, Samsung US instructs users to press the rear eject button and slide the body to reveal the battery compartment. Install two 1.5 V AAA batteries with the positive and negative ends aligned to the polarity markings. These instructions describe battery access, not separation of the main housing. Samsung US: replace the batteries in your Samsung Smart Remote.
Replace the batteries without forcing the casing
- Check the model. Read the model number on the remote and locate its user manual. If you cannot confirm which opening design applies, do not pry at the housing.
- Open the battery compartment. Use the matching push-and-slide, rear eject-button, or notched-cover method in the table and the model’s manual.
- Check the compartment markings. Use the specified battery size and voltage, and note the polarity symbols before inserting batteries.
- Install the batteries and close the cover. Align each battery with the polarity markings and return the cover or sliding body to its normal position.
If you mean internal disassembly
Do not assume the battery-cover instructions explain how to separate the shell. The official Samsung pages cited here do not give internal teardown steps, identify safe points for opening the housing, or explain how to reassemble it. For a repair beyond battery replacement, use instructions specific to the exact remote model or contact Samsung support rather than prying the case based on a battery-access diagram.
