Its leaderboard separates runs by solo class or party size and by Normal or Hardcore. The game displays each entry’s rank, completed tier, time and date, but Blizzard’s published explanations do not spell out the complete ranking or tie-break formula.
What happens in a Tower run?
The Tower is an endgame competition built around completing a dungeon quickly. Each run moves through floors with randomized layouts and monster families. Blizzard describes it as a series of floors featuring randomized layouts and monster families (Blizzard’s Tower and Leaderboards Beta announcement).

Defeating enemies earns score and advances Tower progress. Blizzard’s early explanation ties monster score to the experience value of the monster when it dies. Elite, Champion and Goblin kills can also drop Orbs that contribute progress. Pylons help players fight faster. Once enough progress is built, the final Tower boss appears; defeat it before time runs out to complete the run and qualify for a leaderboard entry.

The published descriptions explain score inputs, but not a complete ranking formula. In particular, they do not establish that leaderboard order is based solely on fastest time, highest tier or a specific score calculation.

How to unlock and enter the Tower
- Complete Rank 2 of Season Rank to unlock access, according to Blizzard’s Season of Divine Intervention overview.
- Go to the Artificer’s Obelisk in Cerrigar and choose the Tower. The Obelisk is also one of the places where you can view the standings.
Blizzard’s overview said the Tower initially used Difficulty Tiers already unlocked for the Pit, and noted that the Tower could also unlock Difficulty Tiers itself. The feature’s unlock details are tied to the seasonal system described in that overview, so check the live game for current availability and requirements.
How the leaderboard is organized
Choose the ladder that matches the run you want to compare. Blizzard’s Season of Divine Intervention overview describes separate Normal and Hardcore standings, with solo ladders for each class and party ladders based on group size.
| Run category | Leaderboard divisions described by Blizzard |
|---|---|
| Solo | Barbarian, Necromancer, Sorcerer, Rogue, Druid and Spiritborn; a Solo Warlock ladder was later announced with Lord of Hatred. |
| Party | Party of two, party of three and party of four. |
| Difficulty mode | Separate Normal and Hardcore entries. |
Blizzard’s Season of Reckoning announcement added the Solo Warlock ladder with Lord of Hatred. Ladder availability can therefore change with game updates; the list above reflects the categories described in those announcements, not a guarantee about every live season.
What an entry shows—and what it does not
Blizzard lists these fields for leaderboard entries:
Rank #2
- Brand: Sony
- Operating system: windows
- Format: cd
- Brand: Blizzard
- Rank
- Player name
- Tier completed
- Time
- Date
Use the appropriate ladder when comparing results: a solo class run is not the same competition as a party run, and Normal and Hardcore are separate. The listed tier and time provide useful context, but Blizzard’s cited descriptions do not explain precisely how those fields combine to determine rank or break ties.
Blizzard also announced that the game captures a snapshot of the build for entries that rank on the leaderboard. Selecting a qualifying entry lets players inspect that build as it was at the time of the Tower run; it is not necessarily the player’s current setup.
Where to view standings and available filters
Open the standings at the Artificer’s Obelisk in Cerrigar or through the Collections menu. The in-game leaderboard includes filters for all platforms or PC only, Normal or Hardcore, friends, and clan. Platform, friends and clan are viewing filters, not separate competition categories in Blizzard’s overview.
Recommended Free Tools
Blizzard says opting out of cross-platform play limits leaderboard access. Its cited descriptions establish an in-game leaderboard; they do not establish an official public web leaderboard.

Rewards: what changed after the beta
At the initial beta launch, Blizzard said there would be no specific leaderboard rewards. That was a description of the early beta, not the later system. In the 2026 Season of Reckoning update, Blizzard announced Tower milestone rewards and Season Rank progression tied to Tower play.
The announced rewards include Treasures of the Artificer, which Blizzard says contain Lore Books and items with guaranteed Greater Affixes. First-time completion of higher Tower Tiers also earns Artificer’s Favor. These are Tower and progression rewards; they should not be confused with a prize awarded simply for finishing at a particular leaderboard rank.
Competition dates and the evolving beta
The schedule changed over time, so historical dates should not be treated as the current calendar. Blizzard’s initial beta announcement described multiple two-week rounds during Season of Divine Intervention and said the cadence could change. A later Season of Reckoning post said competitions would begin on Thursdays following a release or patch, leaving time for balancing and bug fixes. It announced the next opening for April 30, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. PDT; that was a historical opening, not a current round date.
The mode launched as a beta, and Blizzard described it as subject to future iterations. Later announced changes included new environments, monsters and bosses, score tuning, and a run start triggered when a player leaves the starting circle or after ten seconds inside the Tower. Check the in-game event information or a current Blizzard announcement for the active competition schedule and live rules.
