Cynthia Murphy, vice president of the Assuaged Foundation, says Clockify gave her and her students a simple way to start a timer, add time manually, and tag work so the team could see who handled a task and how long it took. The account appears in a Clockify customer story that Clockify published about its own software. It is one user’s experience, told in a vendor-produced interview, so it shows how the tool was used at Assuaged rather than how well it performs for other organizations.
Who Assuaged is and where Murphy fits
Clockify describes Assuaged as an educational platform that works to address chronic diseases worldwide with plant-based solutions. The story identifies Murphy as the foundation’s vice president and as a business development expert. Clockify files the organization under the education industry and places it in the 50–200 employee size band. That size band is Clockify’s own categorization in the story, not an independently checked headcount.

Manual entries as a backstop
Manual entries cover time that was not tracked live. Murphy presents them as useful, but the interview does not explain how often the team uses them or how they affect the reports she reads.

Tags for student work
Tags are the organizing layer in the story. Murphy describes tagging entries to categorize student work, and she names onboarding and blog writing as the two categories she highlights. Tags let the same timer data be sorted by kind of work instead of only by date or person.
Filtering by person, task, and time
The story describes filtering time entries so that a manager can see who handled a given task, when they did it, and how long it took. This is the reporting step that connects the timer and tags to decisions about where effort is going.
Projects
Projects appear in the story as one of Murphy’s favorite features, alongside the timer. The interview does not explain how Assuaged structures its projects, so readers should not assume a particular project layout from this source.

What the onboarding and blog examples show
The clearest example in the story is a split between two kinds of student work. Murphy says:
“I love the ability to organize and to accentuate what you are dedicating your time to. Students have their onboarding, they have the blogs, and they see where they are spending more of their time.”
That passage describes a visibility goal: students and staff can see where hours go within the same tool. It does not show whether the split changed any outcome, and the story gives no before-and-after numbers.

Focus and time management: what Murphy reports
Murphy’s remarks about focus are the most general part of the interview. She says that before adopting the tool, she was not sure where to focus. She also argues that time management depends on tracking:
“There’s no other way to handle all of these things without having good time management.”

The story pairs these remarks with publisher framing that describes easier time tracking, better daily organization, and increased focus. It also says detailed time tracking helped students learn more efficiently. These are reported impressions. The story contains no measured productivity figures, no focus metrics, and no student performance data, so none of these benefits should be read as a quantified result.
What this interview does not establish

If you are evaluating a similar setup
The Assuaged account suggests a short list of questions to answer before adopting a time-tracking tool for a small team:
- Will people start the timer themselves, or will they mostly need to add time afterward?
- Which categories of work need tags, and do they match the way your team already describes its tasks?
- Can a manager filter entries by person, task, and duration to answer the question you actually care about?
- What will the tool cost after the first year, and how does that compare with the budget you have?
- Have you tested the timer on the devices and with the users who will rely on it most?
Murphy’s story answers the first three questions for one organization. The last two are not addressed in the interview and need to be checked directly.
