Aembit says companies can extend its identity and access controls to personal AI agents when those agents reach enterprise services. Announced on October 6, 2026, the capability gives each agent a distinct identity linked to the employee it represents, evaluates access requests at runtime, and can issue scoped, short-lived credentials for approved requests. Aembit says the feature is immediately available to existing customers at no additional cost.

Why personal agents create an access-control challenge

Personal AI agents may reach workplace email, cloud applications, code repositories, internal tools, and other enterprise services using employee credentials or delegated permissions. Aembit frames this as a visibility and control problem: agent activity may be difficult to distinguish from the employee’s, and credentials stored by the agent platform may sit outside direct security-team control.

How Aembit says its controls work

A distinct identity linked to the employee

Aembit describes a blended identity: the agent has its own identity, associated with the employee it represents. This is intended to make the agent identifiable rather than treating its actions as indistinguishable from the employee’s.

Access decisions at request time

For each request, Aembit says its system evaluates the agent, the represented user, the requested resource, and applicable conditions. If a request is approved, it can issue scoped, short-lived credentials instead of relying on standing credentials.

Central records and separate revocation

Aembit says agent activity is recorded centrally and that security teams can revoke an individual agent without disabling the employee’s account. The announcement does not provide implementation details or independent evidence of these controls’ effectiveness.

Capabilities and enforcement options in the announcement

Aembit lists six capabilities for personal-agent access:

  • A distinct identity for each agent.
  • Runtime access policy.
  • Short-lived access in place of standing credentials.
  • Controls across SaaS, developer, and internal services.
  • Centralized audit records.
  • Revocation of an agent independently of the employee’s account.

For enforcement, the release says organizations can use Aembit’s MCP Identity Gateway or other gateways and enforcement points they have already deployed. It says identity, policy, and audit remain centralized in Aembit; it does not specify integration requirements.

Which AI agents does Aembit name?

The announcement formally highlights Meta Muse and also names Microsoft Copilot Studio, Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, and custom LLM-based workflows. Those names indicate the environments Aembit references, not independently tested compatibility or a published list of integrations. The release does not describe product-specific setup or supported versions.
