Adobe Commerce and Hyvä solve different parts of an enterprise storefront: Adobe Commerce supplies the commerce platform, while Hyvä offers storefront products that can be used with it. Hyvä can be a strong option for a storefront refresh, but it is not a guaranteed speed or conversion upgrade. Results depend on the product chosen, deployment model, integrations, custom code, catalog, and the quality of the rebuild.

Can Hyvä work with Adobe Commerce?

Yes. Adobe Commerce is the commerce platform; Hyvä is a suite of products for the storefront and related capabilities. “Hyvä” therefore does not identify one interchangeable package or one architecture. Hyvä describes its lineup as Hyvä Theme, Hyvä UI, Hyvä Checkout, Hyvä Enterprise, and Hyvä Commerce. Its product overview describes UI as a component library compatible with Hyvä Themes, Checkout as a customizable checkout, Enterprise as enabling selected Adobe Commerce capabilities, and Commerce as its broader platform direction.

For a conventional storefront refresh, the key question is whether the project is adopting Hyvä Theme, adding UI components, changing checkout, or evaluating a broader Hyvä product. Scope and integration work differ accordingly. Hyvä Enterprise, for example, is described as enabling capabilities including B2B, loyalty and gifting, content preview and staging, and Adobe Sensei services. Those claims describe the product offering; they do not mean every Hyvä installation includes every capability.

What changes with the Adobe Commerce deployment model?

Deployment affects who operates the platform, what can be changed, and what a migration entails. Adobe distinguishes its SaaS Cloud Service from Commerce on Cloud Infrastructure (PaaS) and on-premises deployments. The options are not interchangeable upgrade targets.

Deployment Operating and customization implications What a storefront project must account for
Adobe Commerce as a Cloud Service (SaaS) Adobe describes this as a versionless service where merchants cannot modify core code. Customizations are modernized into App Builder applications. Adobe’s migration guide calls for rebuilding the storefront on Edge Delivery Services, migrating data, adapting application customizations, and re-establishing integrations using SaaS patterns.
Commerce on Cloud Infrastructure (PaaS) The merchant uses Adobe’s cloud infrastructure; the SaaS guide’s versionless and no-core-modification rules should not be assumed to describe this model. Assess the existing Commerce installation, customizations, extensions, integrations, and chosen storefront architecture individually.
On-premises The merchant or its provider hosts the application and carries the corresponding operating responsibilities. Plan storefront changes alongside hosting, deployment, integration, and operational requirements for that environment.

Adobe’s deployment overview describes its deployment models. Its migration guide, updated September 24, 2026, is specifically about moving to Adobe Commerce as a Cloud Service. That is a different project from replacing a Luma storefront with Hyvä on an existing Commerce installation. Treating the two as the same migration can hide substantial differences in core-code policy, storefront delivery, application customization, and integration design.

Does Hyvä improve Magento storefront speed?

It can be part of a faster storefront, but the product name alone does not predict a merchant’s result. Page performance also depends on implementation, content, third-party scripts, integrations, hosting and delivery architecture, and the pages and devices being measured. The available case studies report improvements after broader rebuilds; they do not isolate the effect of Hyvä in a controlled comparison.

Adobe’s scale figures offer platform context, not a storefront performance forecast. Adobe reports that its benchmark for Adobe Commerce on Cloud version 2.4.5, designed to mimic an enterprise B2C organization, handled:

  • 208,000 orders per hour.
  • 2 million pageviews per hour.
  • 242 million effective SKUs.
  • 10,500 GraphQL calls per minute.
  • 500 concurrent back-office users.

These are Adobe-reported benchmark figures, not typical merchant results, an SLA, or a promise for another version, catalog, integration profile, or deployment. Adobe also describes horizontal scaling and web-tier autoscaling for customers on scaled architecture. Its benchmark page lists a 99.99% infrastructure SLA and a separate 99.9% application SLA with Adobe Commerce on Managed Services; the figures apply to different service scopes. See Adobe’s benchmark and performance overview.

What the case studies show—and what they do not

Hyvä’s Audio-Technica case study, dated May 25, 2025, reports a 671% increase in mobile page speed, a 75% increase in conversion rate, and passing Core Web Vitals after a rebuild. The project included Hyvä Theme, SAP and D365 integrations, localized stores, PageBuilder and CMS blocks, Dotdigital, technical-debt work, content workflow changes, secure hosting, and faster deployments. The case reports outcomes for that combined project; it does not establish that the theme alone caused either percentage.

The same case study quotes Caroline Rodgers, EMEA Website Manager at Audio-Technica, saying the migration brought “increased usability, a more streamlined approach” and improved technical performance, alongside a platform that was easier to manage across multiple countries. That is useful context from the customer, not a controlled performance study.

Hyvä’s Helen of Troy showcase, dated July 30, 2025, says four D2C storefronts—Hydro Flask, Osprey, OXO, and Drybar—moved to Hyvä Theme and Hyvä Checkout with Magebit in five months. The work addressed technical debt, third-party integrations, and a schedule targeting Core Web Vitals ahead of Black Friday. It demonstrates one multi-brand project, not a reliable duration estimate for another merchant.

Hyvä’s Fletcher Stewart case study recounts a customer placing a first online order within two weeks of launch after previously avoiding online ordering because of poor mobile performance. This anecdote illustrates a possible usability consequence; it is not a measured general conversion effect. The page also includes an agency representative’s endorsement, which should be read as advocacy rather than neutral comparative research.

How does Hyvä affect conversion rates?

A storefront can influence conversion through speed, usability, mobile behavior, product discovery, and checkout friction. But a theme change does not supply a defensible conversion forecast by itself. The Audio-Technica figures are encouraging project outcomes, yet the rebuild also changed integrations, content workflows, technical debt, and operations. No independent controlled comparison directly establishing conversion uplift for Adobe Commerce with Hyvä versus without it is provided by these sources.

To assess the business case, define the outcome and measurement before implementation. Compare equivalent traffic and journeys, segment by device and market, and record checkout completion alongside performance and errors. Keep campaign mix, promotions, catalog changes, and other major changes visible in the analysis; otherwise, an apparent uplift may have several plausible causes.

How hard is it to migrate an Adobe Commerce store to Hyvä?

There is no single migration effort that applies to every store. Replacing a storefront on an existing Adobe Commerce installation differs from moving the commerce application to Adobe Commerce as a Cloud Service. In either case, the work depends on the customizations and integrations that must survive, the business logic embedded in the current frontend, the catalog and search design, and operational constraints such as peak season.

Inventory the storefront and its dependencies

  • Map custom theme code, checkout behavior, CMS content, and business-specific frontend rules.
  • List extensions and third-party systems, including ERP, CRM, marketing automation, payment, search, and fulfillment connections.
  • Identify market, language, storeview, B2B, and account requirements that affect templates or customer journeys.
  • Separate capabilities that belong to Adobe Commerce from those supplied by the current theme or custom code.

Design for the target architecture

Decide which Hyvä products are in scope and how the storefront will connect to Commerce. Confirm that required extensions and integrations work with the intended approach, or estimate the work to adapt or replace them. For a Cloud Service move, follow Adobe’s separate SaaS migration requirements: core customizations must be modernized into App Builder applications, the storefront rebuilt on Edge Delivery Services, and data and integrations migrated or re-established for SaaS patterns.

Validate data, scale, and release readiness

Adobe’s implementation playbook advises avoiding unnecessary product attributes and designing for scalable architecture. Catalog and data design matter because they influence the shape of product information and how the storefront and connected services use it. Test representative catalog and search journeys, integration failure modes, checkout behavior, and load expectations before launch; a benchmark result from Adobe’s 2.4.5 test cannot substitute for workload testing on the target system.

Set a release window that allows time for integration testing, performance checks, content validation, and rollback planning. A five-month four-storefront project such as Helen of Troy’s is evidence that a demanding schedule has been achieved in one case, not a basis for promising the same duration elsewhere. See Adobe’s implementation playbook for its guidance on scalable Commerce design.

What should enterprise teams evaluate before choosing Hyvä?

  • Business scope: Is the need a storefront refresh, a checkout change, access to additional Adobe Commerce capabilities, or a platform migration?
  • Customization fit: Which current extensions and custom behaviors remain essential, and what must be adapted or rebuilt?
  • Operational ownership: Who runs hosting, deployment, scaling, monitoring, and incident response under the chosen Commerce deployment?
  • Evidence quality: Are speed and conversion claims vendor benchmarks, individual case-study outcomes, or measurements on your own production-like workload?
  • Timing: Can the team complete integration and release validation without putting a peak trading period at risk?
  • Ongoing cost and capability: Compare license, implementation, maintenance, and internal ownership needs for the specific product combination.

Hyvä’s Enterprise page lists a €7,500 first-year license and €5,000 annual renewal, or a €27,500 five-year upfront option, for one Adobe Commerce installation with unlimited domains and storeviews. These are vendor-listed prices accessed October 4, 2026; confirm current terms directly before budgeting. The page also describes Hyvä Edge as bridging Adobe Experience Manager and Adobe Edge Delivery Services with Hyvä’s frontend, and claims initial build times 30% to 50% lower than legacy Luma or heavy PWA alternatives. That comparison is Hyvä’s claim; the page’s figures should not be treated as independently established without a published methodology. See Hyvä Enterprise.
