WebRTC can provide real-time media and data transport, but the app still needs to define rooms, control access, coordinate connections, manage encryption keys, and keep game state in sync. Those boundaries matter as much as the visible features.
Rooms are the app’s coordination layer
A room is more than a shared screen or a list of participants. The app needs a model for creating rooms, deciding who can enter, tracking membership changes, and handling invitations or access revocation. It also needs signaling: the exchange of setup information that lets participants establish real-time connections.

WebRTC does not supply a complete room system or prescribe how a chat app authorizes members. RFC 8827 describes signaling messages carrying media information and ICE candidates through a signaling service. The signaling service is part of the connection setup; it should not be confused with the media path or treated as proof that room access is secure. RFC 8827
Voice and video require a media topology decision
WebRTC provides browser APIs and a secure real-time transport architecture, not a single way to connect everyone in a group call. A project must choose how room participants exchange media—for example, direct peer connections or a server that routes media—and design for the consequences of that choice. The available project details do not establish which topology this app uses, how many participants it supports, or whether it relies on TURN or an SFU, so none of those implementation details should be inferred from the feature list.

Connection setup also has a trust boundary. RFC 8827 describes signaling over TLS and a fingerprint that binds communication to a key pair. It requires media channels to use SRTP and SRTCP, and WebRTC data channels to be secured with DTLS. As the RFC puts it: “All media channels MUST be secured via SRTP and the Secure Real-time Transport Control Protocol (SRTCP).” These protections are important, but transport encryption by itself does not establish that a service cannot access content. E2EE depends on who controls the keys
“Encrypted” can describe different things. WebRTC’s required media protection secures traffic in transit. Application-level E2EE makes a stronger claim: content is encrypted so that the service handling the connection cannot read it. That claim depends on how keys are generated, distributed, stored, and made available to participants—not just on using a WebRTC connection.

The feature label alone does not establish what this app encrypts. It could refer to messages, voice and video, data channels, game events, or only some of those. Nor does it identify who can access room keys, how keys change when membership changes, or whether participants can verify one another’s identities. Those details define the security boundary and should be stated explicitly before describing the app as end-to-end encrypted.
LiveKit’s documentation illustrates why the distinction matters, without establishing that this app uses LiveKit. Its documented E2EE can cover realtime media tracks and data channels, while the application developer is responsible for securely generating, storing, and distributing keys. The documentation also says its signaling messages and API calls are protected in transit with TLS but remain readable by its server. In-room games need their own state rules
A game can use the same room as a call and still have separate synchronization requirements. The app must decide how players exchange moves or other game events, which participant or service determines the accepted state, and what happens when someone joins late, disconnects, reconnects, or becomes out of sync. These are design questions, not capabilities guaranteed by WebRTC.
The title identifies in-room games as a feature, but does not name the games or explain their state model. Without those specifics, it would be misleading to claim that the app uses server-authoritative state, shares state among clients, or can recover a game after a reconnect.

What the feature set establishes—and what it doesn’t
Rooms, voice and video calls, E2EE, and games describe the user-facing scope, not the implementation. WebRTC standards explain the transport and signaling foundations; they cannot verify an app’s topology, access controls, key management, game synchronization, device coverage, or performance. A useful technical account of this build would need to identify those project-specific choices and distinguish implemented behavior from the protections WebRTC provides by default.
