How to evaluate hotel website examples
A striking homepage is only one part of a useful hotel website. A prospective guest also needs to understand what kind of stay is offered, compare rooms, find practical property and location details, and recognize where a booking link leads. The framework below draws on the examples described by Colorlib, HubSpot, and Moda. It is an editorial way to compare sites, not a validated conversion model.

- Identity and fit: Does the opening message and visual style make the property’s character and likely audience clear?
- Useful information: Can visitors find room options, amenities, location, and experiences without searching through unrelated material?
- Navigation: Are key sections easy to reach, and can visitors orient themselves when a brand has multiple properties?
- Booking visibility and handoff: Is the booking route apparent, and does the next step make clear which property and dates are being selected?
- Visual clarity: Do photos, video, animation, and typography support the information, or make it harder to reach?
- Journey coverage: Does the experience work beyond the first impression, through room selection and the booking engine?

HubSpot’s roundup, updated March 4, 2025, includes 30 examples, among them Hotel & Spa Resort Kaskady, Amaris Mykonos, Al Moudira, Hotel Paradiso Grottammare, The Drifter Hotel, Kinross House, and The Gage Hotel. Its observations emphasize imagery, navigation, amenities, location, nearby activities, guest feedback, and visible booking calls to action. Treat those as additional examples to explore, rather than as a current performance ranking.
Moda’s September 2, 2026 teardown examines five independent properties—The Menhaden, Hotel Peter & Paul, Eastwind Hotels, Lokal Hotel, and Basin Harbor—across positioning, rooms, direct booking, destination content, events, accessibility, and the booking-engine handoff. Its broader lesson is to examine the complete traveler journey, not only the homepage.
What makes a strong hotel website example useful?
The best design inspiration is not necessarily the most dramatic homepage. A large photograph or video can make a property memorable, but it should help visitors understand the place rather than obscure navigation or essential details. Likewise, a visible booking button is useful as an entry point, but the next step should preserve clarity about the property and the reservation being made.
When reviewing any example, follow a prospective guest’s path: identify the type of stay, find a room and relevant amenities, understand the location, and proceed toward booking. That reveals whether the design works as a complete decision-making experience, not just as a visual introduction.
Hotel websites versus hotel booking marketplaces
This gallery concerns hotel-owned or hotel-brand websites used for design inspiration. It is not a list of third-party booking marketplaces. The distinction matters: a hotel’s own site has to express the property’s identity and guide visitors through its information and booking route, while a marketplace is organized around comparing listings from multiple providers.
