Hostinger Python Hosting Review: A VPS-Only Option for 2026

Hostinger runs Python only on self-managed VPS plans. Here are the Django and Flask options, KVM pricing and renewals, refund terms and who it fits.

Hostinger can host Python projects, but only on its VPS plans. Its support documentation says: “Since Web and Cloud hosting plans don’t provide root access, Python is supported exclusively on VPS Hosting.” The VPS is also self-managed, so you install and configure Python, your application and its dependencies. It suits people who are comfortable administering a Linux server. It is a weaker fit for beginners who want a managed platform that handles the runtime and app operations. That fit judgment is our inference from Hostinger’s stated responsibilities, not the result of user testing.

Is Python supported at Hostinger?

Yes, with one qualification. Hostinger’s documentation says Python needs root access to install and update Python itself and your project dependencies. Web and Cloud hosting plans don’t provide root access, so they are out. Any Python project at Hostinger therefore means a KVM VPS.

“Self-managed” means Hostinger supplies the server and you supply everything on top of it. You handle the Python version, virtual environments, the application server, the web server or reverse proxy, and updates. If that list is unfamiliar, expect a learning curve before your first deployment.

Are Django and Flask supported at Hostinger?

Both are documented as VPS-only, for the same root-access reason. Hostinger advertises a preconfigured Django environment on its Django VPS page: Ubuntu 24.04 64-bit with Django and OpenLiteSpeed. Its support material also describes an Ubuntu 22.04 Django/OpenLiteSpeed template. The two sources disagree on the Ubuntu release, so check which template is offered at checkout before relying on either.

Hostinger says its OpenLiteSpeed Django setup runs “close to three times faster than Django on Nginx with Gunicorn.” That is the vendor’s own claim. We found no independent benchmark behind it, so don’t treat it as a measured result for your workload.

For Flask, the documentation only places it on the VPS tier. A clean Linux install, where you choose your own stack, is the natural route.

Hostinger VPS plans and pricing

These are the KVM tiers shown on Hostinger’s US VPS product page when we checked it in early October 2026. Plans are paid upfront, and the displayed monthly rate is the total plan cost divided by the plan duration. The renewal figures shown are for two-year terms. Prices, discounts and availability can change and may differ by country or account, so confirm the amount and term at checkout.

Plan Introductory displayed rate Displayed renewal rate vCPU RAM Disk Bandwidth
KVM 1 $6.49/month $11.99/month for 2 years 1 4 GB 50 GB 4 TB
KVM 2 $8.99/month $14.99/month for 2 years 2 8 GB 100 GB 8 TB
KVM 4 $12.99/month $28.99/month for 2 years 4 16 GB 200 GB 16 TB
KVM 8 $25.99/month $49.99/month for 2 years 8 32 GB 400 GB 32 TB

Two points matter more than the headline rate. First, renewal costs are materially higher than the introductory price. KVM 4 more than doubles, from $12.99 to $28.99 a month. Budget for the renewal figure, not the first-term one. Second, Hostinger says these resource allocations are fixed, so more capacity means moving to a higher plan. Plan labels and availability may also differ across Hostinger’s regional brands.

Features and refund terms

  • Listed features: the VPS page advertises weekly backups, firewall management, 1 Gbps network speed and an AI web terminal. These are product claims. They don’t show how well restores work, how effective the security is, or how fast your app will be.
  • Refunds: Hostinger’s help page says new purchases and renewals of KVM VPS plans can be refunded within 30 days if payment wasn’t made with cryptocurrency. Read the full refund policy for exclusions before you buy.
  • Locations: Hostinger lists VPS locations in Europe, Asia, North America and South America. Check which are offered for your plan at checkout. A location list doesn’t establish latency for your users.

Who should choose Hostinger for Python

Judge it on five points:

  1. Workload size. Compare your memory, CPU, storage and bandwidth needs with the fixed tiers. A small API may fit KVM 1’s 1 vCPU and 4 GB. Don’t pick a tier because of a “best value” label.
  2. Total cost. Compare the discounted upfront commitment with the renewal rate.
  3. Admin skill. If you can’t secure, patch and troubleshoot a Linux server, the self-managed model is a real cost.
  4. Deployment path. Decide between a clean Linux setup and the Django/OpenLiteSpeed template.
  5. Location. Pick a data center near your audience.

Hostinger is reasonable if you want a low-cost Linux VPS with fixed resources and a Django template, and you are happy to run the server yourself. Look at managed Python platforms instead if you want the provider to handle runtime setup, deployments and operations. Don’t buy Hostinger Web or Cloud hosting for Python, because Hostinger says they don’t support it.
