To manage a Managed Hermes installation, sign in to the Hostinger dashboard, select Hermes in the sidebar, locate the application, and choose Manage. The application list shows installations and AI resource information; an application card also shows its expiry date, instance name, status, quick access, and options.
Open the application and its dashboard controls
- Open the service: Sign in to the Hostinger dashboard and select Hermes from the sidebar.
- Choose an installation: Find the relevant application in the list. Use Manage to reach its settings and maintenance controls.
- Launch Hermes: Select Open App. You will need the gateway token, available from the options menu or the dashboard’s Access key button.
The overview covers both Hermes Agent and OpenClaw installations and allows switching between applications. A Running status confirms that the instance is running, but does not by itself establish that every internal setting or request is error-free.

Check status, restart, or update the instance
Use the status and quick-access details on the application card to check the instance. From Manage, choose Restart to reboot it. The options menu also offers reboot and delete actions. Deleting an application is permanent and cannot be undone, so verify the selected installation before confirming.

#1 Best Overall
Set the AI provider and model
Provider settings let you configure nexos.ai, OpenAI, Anthropic, or Gemini, enter the provider’s API key, and select a model. Requests require a valid key and available credits. For OpenAI, Hostinger also documents connecting an active ChatGPT Plus or Pro subscription instead of an API key. The application uses the subscription connection or an API key, not both at the same time.
Manage credits and provider keys
The dashboard can show and top up nexos.ai credits. A negative balance or a 402 budget reached error indicates that more credits are needed. Oxylabs credits are relevant to web-content access only when that option was selected at purchase.
You can copy or rotate provider keys in the dashboard. Rotating a shared nexos.ai or Oxylabs key restarts connected Managed Hermes and OpenClaw applications. After you confirm the rotation, any application still configured with the old key stops working.

The Hostinger Connector allows the agent to read and manage Hostinger resources such as VPS instances, domains, DNS, email, and billing. It requires Hermes version v2026.6.5-10 or later, according to Hostinger’s overview guide. Connecting or disconnecting the connector restarts the application.
Edit environment variables
In the environment-variable controls, values are hidden by default. You can reveal and edit existing values, add variables, or delete variables that are not protected core system variables. Hostinger documents changing the gateway password or token as an environment-variable task. Take care when editing these settings: a changed credential may affect how you access or configure the application.
Use logs to investigate problems
The logs view supports live logs, refresh, copy, and download. Its AI analysis action can summarize log activity and suggest actions; treat those suggestions as diagnostic assistance, not a guaranteed fix. Hostinger’s log insights guide describes using the feature to investigate errors and performance issues. If the card says Running but requests fail, inspect the logs and the internal Hermes settings rather than relying on status alone.

Use the browser CLI and understand its boundary
The dashboard provides a browser terminal for commands within the Hermes application environment. It is confined to the application’s isolated storage boundary and does not provide access to the underlying host server. Hostinger’s CLI documentation distinguishes this managed access from full root privileges; users who need root access should consider a VPS plan.
Review and restore backups
Hostinger says Managed Hermes backups are created automatically once per day and kept for seven days. Backups become available after the application has been active for at least 24 hours. From the dashboard, you can view and download a backup, restore one, and audit past restores. See Hostinger’s backup guide for the dashboard workflow.
Check plan expiry and renew
Plan details show the plan name and expiration date. To renew, choose a renewal period and payment method, then complete payment in the dashboard.
Protect access credentials
Hostinger advises: “Treat AI providers API keys and your Hermes gateway token like passwords: do not share them publicly or include them in client-side code.” Copy keys only where needed, avoid exposing them in public materials, and use the dashboard’s rotation controls if a key is compromised. Remember that rotating a shared key interrupts connected applications still using the old one.
