Hostinger offers two distinct ways to run Drupal: shared hosting with a guided setup and a self-managed VPS with more server resources and control. The shared plans start at a displayed $1.99 per month on a 48-month prepaid term, renewing at $8.99 per month; the VPS starts at $6.49 per month on a two-year prepaid term, renewing at $11.99 per month. Those introductory rates are monthly equivalents, not month-to-month prices. HostAdvice reported two sharply different GTmetrix results for a Drupal site, but its tests do not establish a typical speed or long-term uptime.
Is Hostinger good for Drupal?
Hostinger is a plausible option if you want a Drupal-oriented shared hosting plan with a one-click installer, or if you are comfortable administering a VPS and want greater control over server resources. The shared offer is the simpler route; the VPS deployment is not the same service with a higher tier. It gives you virtual server resources and more control, which also means greater responsibility for operating the server.

Hostinger advertises a one-click Drupal installer, a custom control panel with Git integration, current stable PHP releases, a custom Nginx cache layer and fatcache accelerator, DDoS protection, and SSL/TLS on its Drupal hosting page. Those are product-page claims, not independent validation of performance or security. Hostinger also advertises a 30-day refund period, subject to exclusions; check the applicable terms before paying.

The reviewer also observed CDN, SSL, malware scanning, weekly automated backups, MySQL/phpMyAdmin, and an AI troubleshooting tool in that account; SSH access was available after being enabled manually. These are observations from one account, not confirmation that every feature is included on every plan.

How much does Hostinger Drupal hosting cost after renewal?
Hostinger’s official pages display prepaid prices, expressed as monthly equivalents. The shared-hosting figures below are for 48-month terms; the VPS figures are for two-year terms. The pages say the plan total is paid upfront and the displayed monthly rate is calculated by dividing that total by the number of months. Prices were displayed in U.S. dollars and may differ at checkout.
Shared Drupal hosting
| Plan | Displayed rate and renewal | Listed term total | Sites and storage | Backup details |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Single | $1.99/month for 48 months; renews at $8.99/month | $95.52 | 1 website; 10 GB SSD | Weekly backups |
| Premium | $2.99/month for 48 months; renews at $10.99/month | $143.52 | 3 websites; 20 GB SSD | Weekly backups |
| Unlimited | $3.99/month for 48 months; renews at $16.99/month | $191.52 | Unlimited websites; 50 GB NVMe | Daily backups and easy restore |
Hostinger’s shared Drupal plan page lists these specifications and rates. The long introductory term means you pay the listed total upfront, and the renewal rate is substantially higher than the introductory monthly equivalent.

Drupal VPS deployment
| VPS plan | Displayed rate and renewal | Resources |
|---|---|---|
| KVM 1 | $6.49/month for two years; renews at $11.99/month | 1 vCPU, 4 GB RAM, 50 GB NVMe, 4 TB bandwidth |
| KVM 2 | $8.99/month for two years; renews at $14.99/month | 2 vCPU, 8 GB RAM, 100 GB NVMe, 8 TB bandwidth |
| KVM 4 | $12.99/month for two years; renews at $28.99/month | 4 vCPU, 16 GB RAM, 200 GB NVMe, 16 TB bandwidth |
| KVM 8 | $25.99/month for two years; renews at $49.99/month | 8 vCPU, 32 GB RAM, 400 GB NVMe, 32 TB bandwidth |
These are the displayed prices on Hostinger’s Drupal VPS deployment page. Its rates are also prepaid monthly equivalents, not month-to-month quotes. Hostinger describes additional VPS features including Docker management, container logs, one-click updates, AMD EPYC processors, NVMe storage, a 1 Gbps network, a public API, and data centers worldwide; these are vendor-described features rather than independent test results.

Shared hosting or VPS: which fits your Drupal site?
Choose between the products based on your operating needs, not by comparing the lowest monthly figures alone. Their terms, management model, and available resources differ, and the available evidence does not provide a controlled price-versus-performance comparison.
- Shared hosting: A better starting point if you want a guided Drupal installation and do not want to manage a virtual server. Compare the site count, storage, and backup cadence of the shared tier with your needs.
- VPS: Consider this if you need the listed CPU, memory, storage, and bandwidth allocations or want more server control. A one-click Drupal deployment does not make the VPS a managed Drupal service; be prepared to handle server administration.
- Traffic pattern: Public pages that can be cached may behave differently from logged-in or personalized requests that need Drupal to generate a response. Consider the share of each kind of traffic, but do not treat advertised caching as a guarantee of a particular result.
- Budget: Compare the prepaid commitment and renewal rate for the term you would actually buy. The introductory amount is not a recurring month-to-month price.
Hostinger advertises a free domain for the first year on annual shared plans. HostAdvice’s reviewer found no dedicated free trial during checkout and treated the 30-day money-back guarantee as the evaluation window; the reviewer noted exclusions for crypto payments and the free domain. Hostinger’s official page also says exclusions may apply. Confirm the exact refund policy and any exclusions before ordering.

HostAdvice says its review was updated August 26, 2026. Its reviewer signed up for Hostinger Drupal hosting, with the site hosted in Vilnius, Lithuania, and ran GTmetrix tests from Frankfurt, Germany, and San Antonio, Texas. The reported results were:
Rank #4
| GTmetrix metric | Frankfurt, Germany | San Antonio, USA |
|---|---|---|
| Performance grade | 90% | 100% |
| Structure grade | 98% | 99% |
| Time to first byte | 652 ms | 164 ms |
| Backend time | 494 ms | 43 ms |
| Largest Contentful Paint | 1.4 s | 448 ms |
| Total Blocking Time | 0 ms | 0 ms |
| Cumulative Layout Shift | 0.01 | 0 |
| Fully loaded time | 1.7 s | 478 ms |
The figures are reported in HostAdvice’s review; they are not tests independently reproduced here. They are two runs against one reviewed setup, not a sustained-load test, a long-term uptime record, or a prediction for another site.

Is the fast result cached?
HostAdvice points out that the Frankfurt result was slower than the San Antonio result despite Frankfurt being geographically closer to Vilnius. The reviewer suggests that different cache states likely explain the disparity, presenting the faster San Antonio result as cache-served and the slower Frankfurt result as closer to a fresh, uncached request. The runs do not isolate cache state experimentally, so that explanation is plausible but unproven; they also do not show that a longer geographic distance improves performance.
Best Value
For a Drupal site, this distinction matters: a cacheable public page can be served differently from a request for a logged-in user or personalized content that requires Drupal to render a response. The test does not establish timings for either category across other sites, plans, or traffic patterns.
Quick Recap
What should you verify before ordering?
- Confirm the full prepaid total, billing term, renewal rate, and currency shown at checkout.
- Match the plan’s site limit, storage, and backup schedule to your Drupal site; verify any restore or backup terms that matter to you.
- Check the refund policy and exclusions, including whether any domain charge is refundable.
- If considering a VPS, decide who will maintain the server and confirm that its administration model suits your experience and operational requirements.
- Do not use the two GTmetrix runs as a substitute for testing your own Drupal configuration, especially if much of your traffic is logged in or personalized.
