Hostinger AI Builder: How to Update a Website in Manual Mode

Hostinger AI Builder saves manual-mode edits in the editor, but you must click Publish to make them visible on your live website.
Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

To update a website in Hostinger AI Builder’s manual mode, open the site editor, make your changes, then click Publish in the upper-right corner. The editor saves changes automatically, but visitors won’t see them until you publish the site.

How to publish your website changes

  1. Sign in to Hostinger and open Websites in the dashboard.
  2. Find the website you want to edit and click Edit website.
  3. Make your changes in Hostinger AI Builder. Changes are saved automatically in the editor, but that does not make them live. Hostinger recommends editing in one browser tab and on one device at a time to avoid saving conflicts. Hostinger’s saving guidance
  4. Optionally, click Preview in the upper-right to review the page before publishing. Use the mobile view to check the layout on a smaller screen. Preview has functional limitations, so it cannot verify every feature.
  5. Click Publish in the upper-right and wait for the success confirmation. Publishing makes the changes available on the live site. Hostinger’s update instructions
  6. Open the live site after a few minutes, preferably in a private or incognito window, to confirm what visitors can see.

What happens the first time you publish?

Before its first publication, a manual-mode website is a private draft. Its first Publish action makes the site public; later publications apply new edits to the live version. An unpublished site may show a 404 page or an SSL protocol error when someone tries to visit it. Hostinger’s publishing guidance

  • Check whether Coming Soon is active. If it is, visitors will see the placeholder rather than the site. Turn Coming Soon off under Pages, then publish the site again. Hostinger’s troubleshooting guidance
  • Check product status if the change involves a store item. Make sure the site has a product section, the product is set to Active in the store’s product area, and the product details are saved. Then publish the site. Hostinger’s troubleshooting guidance
  • Rule out an old cached copy. Open the site in a private window, clear your browser cache, or try another network, such as mobile data. Your browser or internet provider may be serving an older version. Hostinger’s troubleshooting guidance
  • Close extra editor sessions. If the builder is open on another tab or device, close the additional sessions, reapply any missing edits, and publish again. Simultaneous sessions can interfere with synchronization and saving. Hostinger’s saving guidance
  • Allow time for a newly connected custom domain. Hostinger says domain propagation can take up to 24 hours globally. This applies to connecting a domain; it is not a general estimate for how long published edits take to appear. Use the site’s auto-generated preview domain in the meantime. How to change a page URL

  1. In the editor, open Pages and navigation.
  2. Open the page’s ellipsis menu and choose Page URL.
  3. Edit the URL slug and save the change. Renaming a page may update its URL automatically, but you can also edit the slug yourself.
  4. Publish the website so the URL change appears online. Blog post and product URLs are managed in their respective settings. Hostinger’s page URL guidance
