To create a browser-based app with Hostinger AI Builder’s agentic mode, start an AI Builder project, describe the app and its user flows in a specific prompt, review the generated result in the editor, test it, and publish it. The builder can generate code, a file structure, and backend features from chat or voice instructions, but its output is probabilistic: expect to inspect and refine the result rather than assume it will work exactly as requested.
What agentic mode can—and cannot—build
Hostinger describes agentic mode as an AI collaborator for creating websites and browser-based applications. The editor combines a prompt or chat area with a live preview; it also provides code and optional backend views. Hostinger says the typical stack is Node.js on the backend and React/Vite on the front end. You can request other tools, but changing the defaults may introduce compatibility problems. Prompts can be entered in more than 80 languages, according to Hostinger’s product overview.

Examples Hostinger lists include business sites, online shops, event sites, trackers, dashboards, interactive quizzes, and simple browser-based 2D games. It does not support 3D games, browser extensions, trading or banking applications, or native iOS and Android apps. A web app made here runs in a browser; it is not a native app-store application.

Hostinger explains that the model generates output probabilistically rather than following fixed rules. Equivalent prompts can produce different results, and the builder may change more than the specific element requested. Treat each generation as a draft to review.

How to create a web app in agentic mode
- Start an AI Builder project. Choose a Hostinger plan, open the dashboard, go to Websites, and create a website with AI Builder. Select agentic mode when prompted. Labels or setup screens may change as Hostinger updates the interface; follow the current dashboard wording. Hostinger’s setup walkthrough is at How to create a web app using Hostinger AI Builder agentic mode.
- Choose how to handle the domain. Select a domain during setup, or use a temporary domain and connect your own domain later.
- Describe the app in a structured prompt. Explain the problem, intended users, screens, features, data, forms, navigation, and visual direction. A practical prompt outline is below.
- Review the generated app. Inspect the live preview and, where relevant, code and backend views. Compare each screen and interaction with your requirements.
- Refine one issue at a time. Give a focused follow-up instruction that names the screen or component and the change you want. Recheck the preview because the builder may also alter other parts.
- Test the important flows. Exercise navigation, forms, and other core interactions at desktop and mobile widths. After publishing, check the public site in the browsers and on the devices your intended users are likely to use.
- Publish and verify. New projects remain private drafts until published. Use Publish in the editor, then open the public URL in a private or incognito window. Publish again after later edits to make those changes live. See Hostinger’s publishing instructions.
What should you write in your prompt?
Be concrete about what a user should be able to do, not just what the app should look like. Hostinger recommends specific instructions to reduce ambiguity and breaking complex ideas into smaller requests. For example, rather than asking for “a fitness app,” specify the user, the screens, the information to record, and the steps to save and view a workout.
A useful prompt checklist
- Problem and audience: State what the app helps with and who will use it.
- Screens and functions: Name each screen and describe its purpose and required actions.
- Data and forms: Specify what users enter, what the app should display or save, and any validation or confirmation messages you need.
- Flow and navigation: Describe how users move from one task to the next, including what happens after submitting a form or selecting an item.
- Visual direction: Describe the layout, style, colors, and responsive behavior you want.
- Build sequence: For a complicated app, ask for a manageable feature or flow first, review it, then request the next part.
Example prompt
“Create a responsive browser-based habit tracker for people who want to build a daily routine. Include a dashboard with today’s habits, a form to add a habit with a name and schedule, and a history view showing completed days. Let users mark a habit complete from the dashboard and show a confirmation. Use simple navigation between Dashboard, History, and Settings. Use a calm, readable visual style and make the layout work on narrow mobile screens and desktop. Start with these screens and core flows; do not add payments or social features.”

Hostinger’s prompting guide covers effective instructions and file inputs. Depending on the interface, available reference inputs may include images or screenshots; Hostinger’s documentation also describes PDF and HTML uploads in prompt guidance. Do not assume every file type is available in every workflow.

Use the live preview as a working draft. Check that the pages exist, the navigation reaches the right places, and each control behaves as the prompt requires. If something is wrong, describe the smallest clear correction—for example, “On the History screen, sort completed days newest first”—instead of asking the builder to redo the whole app. Then inspect the changed area and any nearby elements for unexpected edits.

The editor displays AI credit information. Hostinger says undoing or restoring a previous state does not reinstate credits already used, and the available allowance depends on the plan and may change. Check the current account and plan details before starting a large generation or a long sequence of revisions.
Technical boundaries to check before choosing agentic mode
Agentic mode is not a file-based hosting environment. Hostinger says FTP, File Manager, SFTP, SSH, direct management of individual files, cron jobs, and resource monitoring are unavailable. SSL, CDN, and server cache are managed automatically. For domain pointing, Hostinger documents nameservers or CNAME—not A records.

Integrated backend features are available. Hostinger identifies Supabase and Firebase as examples of external cloud databases and says custom APIs can be integrated through prompts. Direct code imports from GitHub are not supported. If your project depends on a particular integration or hosting workflow, confirm it fits these constraints before building around it.
Hostinger says source code can be exported for hosting on a VPS or another provider, but the exported result becomes a static website. It cannot then be imported back into AI Builder for continued prompt-based editing. Hostinger also documents that websites become inaccessible if a hosting plan expires and that data is permanently deleted if hosting is not renewed and canceled. Review Hostinger’s current terms and policies before making hosting, export, or retention decisions.

Can Hostinger AI Builder build a mobile app?
It can create a browser-based app that can be viewed on mobile screens, but Hostinger lists native iOS and Android applications for the App Store or Google Play as unsupported. If you need an installable native app, agentic mode is not the right way to produce it.
Payments, launch checks, and domain troubleshooting
Hostinger says applications can be built to include subscriptions, one-time payments, or affiliate links, though implementation may require detailed prompts. That capability does not establish which payment provider will work for a particular project or confirm legal, tax, or affiliate-program compliance. Verify those requirements separately before accepting payments or promoting products.
Before launch, check the core experience in the preview, publish it, and verify the live URL. If a recently changed domain does not load, Hostinger says DNS propagation can take up to 24 hours globally; this is an estimate, not a guaranteed wait time. Confirm the domain’s records and allow time for propagation before treating the issue as a failed build.
