In Hostinger AI Builder manual mode, select an image on a page, choose Edit image, enter a description in Alt text, and save. You can also add a description from the Media library. Here’s where to find both controls and how to write useful alt text.
Add alt text to an image on a page

Open the page containing the image in Hostinger AI Builder manual mode.

Select the image.

Choose Edit image.

Find the Alt text field and enter a concise description of the image.

Save your changes.
The editor also offers Suggest using AI. Treat its wording as a draft: check it against the actual image and the page context before saving. The feature is documented, but its suggestions are not guaranteed to be accurate.

Add alt text from the Media library

In the builder, click the three-dot menu on the left.

Choose Media library.

Open the details for the image file you want to describe.

Enter the description and save it.
These are two documented ways to reach image descriptions: edit an image placed on a page, or open a file’s details in the Media library. Hostinger’s help instructions do not establish whether changing a file’s description in the library updates every instance already placed on a site. If the image is reused, check its alt text on the relevant pages.

Write a short, clear description that communicates the image information that matters in that page’s context. A useful check is: if someone cannot see the image, would these words help them understand what it conveys?

Hostinger’s accessibility guidance contrasts the vague phrase “official homepage” with the more informative “Hostinger’s official homepage.” The second identifies whose homepage it is. Apply the same principle to your own images: include relevant visual information, avoid filler, and do not add details or interpretations the image does not support.
Descriptive alt text helps people using screen readers understand image content. Hostinger also says it helps search engines understand what images represent; adding alt text does not guarantee higher rankings or a particular amount of search traffic.

Check alt text for store product images
Hostinger says an online store uses the product title as alt text for the main product image by default. Check whether that title describes the image as it appears in context; a title may name the product without conveying relevant details shown in the image.
