Hosting.com shared hosting is best suited to smaller sites that want a managed, entry-level hosting environment rather than dedicated server resources. Its advertised features include NVMe storage, LiteSpeed caching, SSL, malware protection and backups, but no independent benchmark in the available evidence establishes how fast a particular plan performs. Plan limits and checkout pricing also need checking for your region and billing term.
What Hosting.com shared hosting includes
Shared hosting places multiple customers’ websites on a server and shares its resources among them. Hosting.com describes this as a way to keep costs low, and positions shared hosting as an entry-level option for websites and email. That setup can suit a blog, portfolio or small business site with modest requirements; it does not provide the resource isolation of a dedicated server.

Hosting.com advertises NVMe storage, LiteSpeed caching and tuned database infrastructure for its shared plans. It also describes caching, load balancing and high-availability architecture as ways to improve loading and time to first byte. These are the provider’s descriptions, not independently measured results. No independent, reproducible test tied to a named plan, location, configuration and test period is established here. See Hosting.com’s shared-hosting page for its feature descriptions.

How the shared plans differ
Hosting.com’s plan comparison lists different website and storage limits. The retrieved comparison shows these capacities; features and package terms can change, so confirm the live comparison and checkout details before buying.
#1 Best Overall
| Tier as presented in comparison | Website limit | NVMe storage | Other listed details |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lower tier | 5 websites | 15 GB | Email and backup features vary by tier; check the current comparison. |
| Next tier | 10 websites | 50 GB | Email and backup features vary by tier; check the current comparison. |
| Higher tier | 50 websites | 100 GB | Lists 40 mailboxes and priority support. |
These counts are plan limits, not a recommendation to host that many active sites. Estimate the storage your files, media, databases and backups require, then choose a tier with headroom. If you need several mailboxes or particular backup options, verify that those are included in the specific package rather than assuming every tier has the same allowances. The provider’s shared-hosting comparison is the place to check current inclusions.
Pricing: verify the full term cost
The available official page content does not establish current US prices or renewal rates for each tier. Hosting.com displays billing-period choices and introductory-offer language, so a headline offer should not be treated as the recurring cost. Compare the checkout total for your country and chosen term with the renewal amount before committing.
Rank #2
- Check the total charged now and the price at renewal.
- Confirm whether a domain is included for your chosen plan and whether eligibility conditions apply.
- Check that the tier includes the email, backup and storage limits you need.
- Compare equivalent billing terms and regions if evaluating another host.
Hosting.com’s homepage provides plan-selection links, but the available information does not support quoting a precise current US monthly or renewal price.

Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Speed and uptime: what is and is not established
NVMe storage and LiteSpeed caching are relevant platform features, but their presence alone cannot predict how a site will perform. Results also depend on workload, site configuration, traffic and the server serving the request. Because no independent benchmark with a specified plan, geography and test period is established, there is no substantiated speed result to report for Hosting.com shared hosting.
Rank #3
Hosting.com also describes a 99.9% uptime SLA. That is a provider-stated service commitment, not evidence of observed uptime. Review the applicable service terms for what the commitment covers and what remedy, if any, applies; an SLA should not be read as a guarantee that interruptions will never occur.
Security, backups and migration
Hosting.com advertises free SSL, malware protection and a web application firewall. It also describes daily backups stored off-server, with restoration to a point in the previous 30 days. These are provider-described features, not an independent audit of their effectiveness. They can reduce some operational risks, but they do not guarantee that a site cannot be compromised or that data loss is impossible.
Rank #4
Before relying on the backup feature, confirm its availability for your chosen tier and how restoration requests work. Keep an independent copy of important site data if losing it would disrupt your business.
The provider advertises free managed website migration and support via live chat, email and phone. It also says customers can upgrade within its plan family and describes a route from shared hosting to a managed server. Migration scope and eligibility can depend on the site and package, so confirm what will be moved and whether any limits apply before scheduling a transfer.

Hosting.com’s terms state that accounts automatically renew. To avoid a renewal charge, the terms instruct customers to submit cancellation through the customer panel at least one day before the start of the renewal term. Check the account’s renewal date and applicable terms rather than waiting until the final day.
The provider advertises a 30-day money-back period for eligible products, but this is not an unconditional refund promise. The terms limit the guarantee to the applicable first term and exclude domain-related fees and certain other non-refundable expenses. Read the terms that apply to your purchase to determine eligibility, excluded charges and the cancellation process: Hosting.com Terms of Service.
Who should consider Hosting.com shared hosting?
- A reasonable fit: a small site or blog that can work within shared-resource limits and whose required website count and storage fit a listed tier.
- Check carefully first: a business depending on predictable performance, extensive backup controls, specific mailbox allowances or a known recurring budget. Confirm the plan details and renewal price, and seek measured performance evidence relevant to your expected audience and workload.
- Look beyond shared hosting: a site that needs isolated resources or has outgrown its current capacity may need a higher-capacity hosting environment. Hosting.com describes upgrade paths, but confirm the available options and migration implications for your account.
When comparing hosts, use the same geography and billing term. Compare checkout and renewal totals, site and storage limits, backup frequency and retention, security inclusions, migration scope, support access, and the uptime commitment and its remedy. Treat marketing speed language as a feature description unless comparable measurements are available.
