But its value is hard to judge without a verified checkout price and renewal rate, and the available performance testing covers general shared hosting—not these ecommerce plans specifically.
What HostGator ecommerce hosting includes
HostGator describes its ecommerce plans as shared hosting bundled with WordPress ecommerce tools. Its comparison page lists two tiers:
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
| Plan | Websites | SSD storage | Ecommerce features |
|---|---|---|---|
| Online Store | 3 | 50 GB | Standard ecommerce addon |
| Online Store + Marketplace | 10 | 100 GB | Enhanced ecommerce Plus addon, including Ecomdash multi-channel inventory management |
Both tiers list a free domain for the first year, free SSL, a professional email free trial, and Yoast SEO. The ecommerce addons include WooCommerce, YITH-powered bookings and appointments, gift cards, the Wonder Theme, wishlists, and product search and filtering. See HostGator’s plan and addon comparison for its feature list.
Bundled hosting versus an addon
HostGator distinguishes these plans, which bundle hosting and ecommerce addons, from ecommerce addons that existing WordPress shared-hosting customers can add to their current service. If you already host a WordPress site with HostGator, check which route applies to your account before choosing a plan.

What the Marketplace tier adds
Ecomdash is a multi-channel ecommerce management platform included with Online Store + Marketplace and available to eligible ecommerce Plus customers. HostGator’s documentation lists Amazon, eBay, Walmart, Etsy, and Google among supported marketplaces, with availability varying by country. It describes tools for managing listings, viewing orders, handling inventory, and importing or exporting products. Connecting these services requires configuration and existing marketplace seller accounts; the tools do not guarantee marketplace approval, sales, or a connection without setup. HostGator explains the service in its Ecomdash overview and provides a WordPress setup guide.
What is known about performance?
TechRadar’s HostGator web-hosting review, updated November 26, 2025, evaluated shared hosting generally. In its 14-day test, it observed 99.63% uptime; its test site recorded a 0.551-second Largest Contentful Paint (LCP), and it reported an average of 15 requests per second under its described load test. These are results from the reviewer’s test setup, not guarantees and not benchmarks of HostGator’s ecommerce bundles. TechRadar also notes that shared servers divide resources among accounts, and suggests specialist WooCommerce hosting for stores needing more power or features. Its findings are available in the HostGator review.
That distinction matters for an online store: a general shared-hosting test cannot establish how a particular ecommerce site will handle its own traffic, checkout activity, plugins, or traffic spikes. Treat the measurements as limited context rather than proof of store-specific capacity.

It may suit a smaller WooCommerce store if…
- You want WordPress and WooCommerce with several listed store features bundled together.
- You will use YITH functions such as bookings, appointments, or gift cards.
- You need marketplace listing and inventory workflows and can confirm Ecomdash supports your country and seller accounts.
Compare other options if…
- You prefer a hosted website builder or another store platform rather than managing a WooCommerce site.
- Your business depends on predictable costs, high or spiky traffic, or ecommerce-specific performance evidence.
- You need clearly specified support, backup, security, or recovery protections and have not confirmed what your selected plan includes.
Compare alternatives on platform fit, store operations, likely traffic and capacity, and total cost. For cost, match the billing term and include the renewal rate, taxes, paid add-ons, and any migration expense—not just an introductory offer. For operational readiness, confirm support, backups, security, and recovery options in the actual plan terms.

Check the price and terms before buying
HostGator’s setup documentation says purchased plans automatically renew after the first billing cycle using the payment method on file, with applicable tax or VAT. It does not state the current price, billing interval, renewal rate, or complete cancellation and refund terms. The available documentation therefore does not support a firm price-based verdict. Check your regional checkout and account terms before purchase; do not assume the initial total will be the recurring cost. HostGator also documents an existing-customer path for adding an ecommerce plan through its customer portal in the Ecomdash overview.
- Compare the checkout total with the stated renewal amount and billing interval.
- Confirm applicable taxes or VAT and review cancellation and refund terms.
- Verify which support, backup, security, and recovery features are included.
- Check that your desired marketplaces are available in your country and that you have the required seller accounts.
- Confirm the upgrade path if your traffic or operational requirements grow.
Verdict
HostGator’s ecommerce hosting is a conditional fit for a smaller WooCommerce business that values the bundled YITH tools; the Marketplace tier is more relevant if it will actually use Ecomdash. The available evidence is not enough to call it a good value for a price-sensitive store or to recommend it for demanding traffic: verify live renewal terms and plan protections, and do not treat general shared-hosting test results as ecommerce-plan benchmarks.
