The HONOR X9b is easiest to recommend when a large, vivid screen and a substantial battery matter more to you than fast charging, dependable secondary cameras, or easy one-handed use. It has a slim design and HONOR-marketed drop protection, but neither that protection claim nor its 2024 launch price should be treated as a guarantee of value today. Whether it is worth buying depends on your local price, the exact regional model, and what alternatives cost now.
HONOR X9b at a glance
HONOR’s UAE specifications list a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with 1200 × 2652 resolution, a Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor, and MagicOS 7.2 based on Android 13. The listed configuration is 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage; configurations can vary by market. These are the manufacturer’s specifications, not a guarantee that every regional version has the same memory, software, or included accessories. HONOR UAE specifications

| Feature | HONOR’s published specification |
|---|---|
| Display | 6.78-inch AMOLED, 1200 × 2652 resolution; 120 Hz refresh rate and 1200-nit peak brightness are manufacturer-published claims |
| Processor | Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 |
| Listed memory and storage | 12 GB + 256 GB; market configurations vary |
| Software on the UAE specifications page | MagicOS 7.2 based on Android 13 |
| Rear cameras | 108 MP main, 5 MP ultra-wide/depth, and 2 MP macro; 4K rear video support |
| Battery and charging | 5,800 mAh typical capacity (5,700 mAh rated); 35 W wired charging |
The 108 MP figure describes the main sensor’s high-resolution mode, not necessarily the resolution of ordinary default photos. HONOR also advertises up to 19 hours of online video playback and 12 hours of online gaming; these are manufacturer claims, and actual endurance depends on usage conditions. The company likewise cautions that actual battery life and charging power vary by scenario. HONOR UAE product page
What the display and battery are like
The large, high-resolution AMOLED panel is the X9b’s clearest strength. Reviewers covering Indian-market units praised its vivid screen, while also describing the battery positively. That makes the phone appealing for video, reading, and long stretches away from a charger—provided you are comfortable with a physically large handset. India Today gave the phone 7.5/10 in its February 15, 2024 review, and The Indian Express and 91mobiles also identified the display and battery as strong points. These impressions come from those reviewers and their review-period units, not a controlled comparison with every current rival. India Today review · The Indian Express review · 91mobiles review

Performance, cameras, and everyday compromises
Performance
The UAE specification page names the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1, but the reviewed sources do not establish a current comparative benchmark against phones now sold at the same price. For demanding games or performance-heavy work, compare current local tests and prices rather than assuming the processor makes the X9b a standout gaming choice.
Cameras
The rear setup combines a 108 MP main camera with 5 MP ultra-wide/depth and 2 MP macro cameras. The main camera can produce attractive results in daylight, according to the review coverage, but reviewers found camera performance mixed overall, with weaker results in some conditions, including low light. The additional cameras should not be assumed to match the main camera in usefulness or image quality. The published 4K capability is a specification, not evidence that all cameras record at 4K. Charging, audio, and handling
Reviewers considered charging slow, so the large battery does not translate into particularly quick top-ups. India Today reported that its reviewed Indian unit had a single speaker and did not include a charger in the box. The Indian Express reviewer found one-handed use and button placement awkward. These are observations about particular review units and regional packages; check the exact version sold where you live rather than assuming the same bundle or handling experience applies everywhere. How much protection does the X9b offer?
HONOR markets the X9b’s Ultra-Bounce Anti-Drop Display and says the phone received SGS five-star overall drop-resistance certification. The company also claims its cushioning material can absorb up to 1.2 times the impact of a drop. Treat these as attributed manufacturer claims, not a promise that the phone cannot break: HONOR warns that precision components should not be bumped or dropped. HONOR UAE product page

The Indian Express and 91mobiles reviewers said they did not conduct the specialized testing needed to verify the advertised durability claim. That means their reviews do not independently confirm it; it does not, by itself, disprove the certification. A protective claim is not a substitute for checking warranty terms or using suitable protection. The Indian Express review · 91mobiles review

Is the HONOR X9b worth buying now?
There is no dependable universal verdict without a current local price. The available review prices are historical: India Today reported ₹25,999 in its February 15, 2024 review, and 91mobiles published its review in February 2024, updating it in March. Do not use that launch-era figure as a current recommendation. India Today review · 91mobiles review
