What they do not confirm is a complete specification sheet. The chipset, camera hardware, dimensions, weight, network bands and software update period are not stated in the text of HONOR’s China specifications page, so a full spec table cannot be verified from the manufacturer’s material alone.

Battery, charging and endurance
Capacity and charging
HONOR describes the battery as its fourth-generation Qinghai Lake design. It lists 11000mAh as the typical capacity and 10690mAh as the rated capacity. The phone supports 90W wired charging, and it can pass power to another device at up to 27W through wired reverse charging. HONOR’s China product page gives no charger wattage limit for reverse charging beyond that 27W figure.

Runtime claims
HONOR publishes five endurance figures. Each one was measured under different conditions, so they cannot be compared with one another as if they were a single test, and none is a guaranteed everyday runtime.

HONOR’s launch announcement also cites a 26 hours 08 minutes 34 seconds livestream battery challenge in Xinjiang, which it attributes to a Guinness World Records challenge. The Guinness record entry itself is not linked from HONOR’s material and is not confirmed here.
Display
The screen is a 6.8-inch panel at 1280×2788 with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. HONOR advertises three display figures that are worth separating from the basic specification:

- Local peak brightness up to 10000 nits. This is a HONOR product claim for a localised peak, not a sustained brightness figure, and the official material does not give an independent measurement.
- 3840Hz high-frequency PWM dimming. HONOR’s product page refers to IEEE Std 1789-2015 when explaining its flicker approach. It also states that the phone is not a medical device and has no treatment function.
- Flicker-free marketing. HONOR says the 3840Hz PWM dimming reaches a “zero risk” dimming level. That is HONOR’s own framing of its benchmark, and it should be read as a manufacturer claim rather than an objective medical conclusion. The original Chinese wording is: 荣耀X80 Pro Max搭载 3840Hz 超高频 PWM 调光技术，达到零风险调光级别。
Durability and water resistance
HONOR advertises IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings. Its product page also describes these test conditions: 10 metres of immersion, an 85°C hot-water spray, and 100,000 water-entry tests. These are the conditions HONOR chose to publish, and a standard IP rating does not guarantee performance after wear, ageing or accidental damage.
For drop resistance, HONOR says the phone received SGS Gold Label five-star stringent-scenario drop-resistance certification. Its announcement describes tests that include drops of 1.2 metres onto complex surfaces and a 3-metre fall onto smooth marble. The SGS certificate itself is not linked from HONOR’s material, so the certification is reported here as HONOR describes it.

HONOR also describes an optional screen repair benefit in China. It covers up to two repairs for specified accidental screen damage over two years, and the customer must enrol through the My HONOR app within one month of purchase. Eligibility and market limits apply, so it should not be assumed to be available outside China or indefinitely.
China launch configurations, prices and what comes in the box
HONOR’s launch announcement lists four storage configurations with launch list prices in China. These are the prices HONOR announced in June 2026, not current prices.

HONOR’s current China shop listing is different. It shows a 12GB + 256GB orange dual-SIM variant, which does not appear among the four launch configurations. The official pages do not explain the difference, so check the exact variant on the seller’s page before comparing prices.
The shop listing says the package includes the phone with its built-in battery, a pre-applied screen film, a quick guide, a 90W HONOR SuperCharge charger, a USB-C data cable, a SIM ejector and a TPU case.

What the official sources do not confirm
The following items are not established by HONOR’s China pages reviewed for this article. Do not fill these gaps from a different Honor model or from an unverified third-party listing:
- Chipset, CPU and GPU configuration
- Complete camera hardware
- Physical dimensions and weight
- Full 5G and 4G band support
- Storage expansion
- Software version at sale and the length of update support
- Global launch, local warranty terms and international availability
- Current price, stock and any Amazon or other marketplace listing
How to compare it with other phones
The sources do not include an independent head-to-head test against another phone, so no ranking such as “best” or “longest lasting” is supported. If you compare the X80 Pro Max with a rival, match the following factors:
- Battery: typical capacity against typical capacity, and runtime figures measured under the same network, brightness and volume settings.
- Display: panel size and resolution, refresh-rate behaviour, the method used to measure outdoor brightness, and the standard behind any flicker claim.
- Durability: the certification standard, the test conditions, whether liquid damage is covered by warranty, and the length of the repair benefit.
- Value: the same-market price for the same RAM and storage configuration, the accessories in the box, and the local warranty.
Before you buy
- Confirm the exact model number and region. The China listing describes a China-market product.
- Check the 5G band list and carrier compatibility for your country. These are not confirmed in the official text.
- Ask the seller for the software update commitment and warranty terms that apply in your market.
- Use a compatible case or charger only when a listing explicitly confirms fit and charging support for this model. The China package already includes a TPU case and a 90W charger.
