The HONOR Magic V6 pairs a 7.95-inch fold-out display with a slim folded body, a 6,660mAh battery and IP68/IP69 ratings. Those specifications make it an unusually ambitious book-style foldable, but they are not the whole story: independent reviewers praise its battery life and overall performance while flagging heat during long gaming sessions, occasional software snags and a steep price. HONOR announced regional availability and configurations, so buyers should verify the local offer rather than assume one global price.
What the Magic V6 is—and what makes it different
The Magic V6 is a large-screen Android phone that opens like a book. HONOR announced a 7.95-inch inner display and a 6.52-inch cover display, both using LTPO 2.0 panels with adaptive refresh rates from 1 to 120Hz. The cover screen handles phone tasks without unfolding; the inner screen gives more room for reading, multitasking and media. (HONOR, [MWC announcement])

HONOR lists the white version at 8.75mm thick when folded and 4.0mm unfolded, with weight around 219g. These are launch-announcement figures for that color, not necessarily measurements for every regional variant. The company also says crease depth is reduced by 44% compared with the previous generation. That is a manufacturer comparison, not an independent measurement of how visible the crease is in everyday use. ([HONOR global launch announcement], [HONOR MWC announcement])
Battery and charging: standout numbers, with real-use context
HONOR specifies a 6,660mAh battery, with 80W wired and 66W wireless charging. Its MWC announcement says the battery material has 25% silicon content. These are manufacturer specifications and material claims; charging speed and runtime in practice can vary with conditions and configuration. - For USA Buyers: Only work with T-Mobile in the US, as it is not optimized for Verizon and AT&T. This means that as long as there's T-Mobile coverage, it'll work. For Intentional Buyers: Work outside of the USA with any network provider without any restrictions.
- Inner screen: 7.95 inch, 2352 x 2172 Pixels, foldable OLED, 1.07 billion colors
- External screen: 6.52 inch, 2420 x 1080 Pixels, OLED, 1.07 billion colors
- 512GB Storage, 16GB RAM
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite (Gen 5) Mobile Platform, Adreno 840
In TechRadar’s long-term review, Dashiell Wood reported that his heavily used phone commonly ended the day with around 25% charge remaining. That is a useful anecdote, not a standardized battery test or a promise of a particular runtime. The publication rated battery life 5/5. ([TechRadar review])
Durability: strong ratings, not immunity from damage
HONOR says the Magic V6 is rated IP68 and IP69 for water and dust resistance, and that its hinge was tested for up to 500,000 folds. These are vendor claims. An IP rating and a hinge-fold test do not mean the phone is damage-proof or establish how a particular device will fare after wear, impact or exposure outside rated conditions. Check the warranty terms in your market before buying. ([HONOR UAE open-sale announcement], [HONOR MWC announcement])

Performance and software: fast overall, with some caveats
HONOR’s June 2026 launch announcement lists a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 platform, LPDDR5X RAM, UFS 4.1 storage and MagicOS 10. These are launch-announcement specifications; regional variants may differ. ([HONOR global launch announcement])

TechRadar described overall performance as very strong, but reported heat during extended gaming and occasional freezing or app-resizing problems. Its performance and software scores were each 4/5. Those findings describe that reviewer’s experience, not a controlled comparison or a guarantee that every unit will behave the same way. ([TechRadar review])

Cameras: a versatile rear set, not a proven class leader
The rear camera system comprises a 50MP main camera, a 64MP periscope telephoto and a 50MP ultra-wide, according to HONOR. The company identifies a 1/2-inch sensor and CIPA 6.5-stop stabilization for the telephoto camera. These specifications describe hardware; they do not establish image quality against competing phones. ([HONOR global launch announcement], [HONOR UAE open-sale announcement])
Price and availability depend on market
HONOR’s global MWC announcement said the phone would reach selected markets in the second half of 2026, with local availability, configurations and pricing to be confirmed. Later regional announcements provide examples, not a universal or necessarily current price:

- Consider it if you want a large inner screen but still value a relatively slim folded design, and the local price fits your budget.
- The battery story is promising based on HONOR’s capacity figure and TechRadar’s reported heavy-use experience, though neither guarantees your own daily runtime.
- Think twice if you play demanding games for long stretches, need flawless app behavior, or are primarily seeking the best value rather than a premium foldable.
- Check local details for storage, availability, warranty and any Apple-device interoperability you expect. HardwareZone identifies Apple compatibility as a buyer consideration, but the available evidence does not establish compatibility for every device or function.
TechRadar suggests a conventional HONOR Magic 8 Pro for buyers who do not need a foldable, while HardwareZone places the V6 among premium book-style foldables. Neither review provides a controlled head-to-head test establishing a winner. ([TechRadar review], [HardwareZone Singapore review])

Verdict
The Magic V6’s appeal rests on a compelling combination: a large inner screen, slim announced dimensions, a substantial battery specification, fast wired and wireless charging, and high water- and dust-resistance ratings. Independent review impressions reinforce the battery and general performance story, while sustained gaming heat and occasional software issues are meaningful caveats. It looks like a capable premium foldable, but whether it is worth buying depends on your local price and how much you will use the fold-out screen.
