What Holycube Revolution is
Holycube Revolution is a vanilla-plus modpack from MLDEG. Its own description calls it “HCR is a vanilla frendly modpack with Create and some QOL mods.” Create is the central progression system: instead of replacing Minecraft with a completely different game, it adds mechanical power, factories, transport and automated processing to the familiar survival loop.

Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?
Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteWindows Errors? Fix Them Before They Spread
Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallThe pack also adds convenience and exploration tools. The listed examples include Sophisticated Backpacks, Waystones, JourneyMap, inventory-sorting features, overlays, building aids and recipe or interface helpers. Create add-ons broaden the machinery available after the core systems are understood.
There is no quest book. That is an important distinction when deciding whether the pack suits your group. You will not receive a numbered quest line or rewards directing the next objective. Players choose whether to automate a resource, build a large factory, improve a base, map an area or explore at their own pace.
#1 Best Overall
- DELUXE COLLECTION — Includes Minecraft: Java & Bedrock Edition, three Bedrock add-ons, three exclusive Character Creator items, and 700 Minecoins.
- CREATE YOUR WORLD — Build whatever you imagine in an infinite world that’s unique in every playthrough.
- EXPLORE AND CRAFT — Discover biomes, resources, and mobs, then craft your way through a sandbox world filled with surprises.
- SURVIVE THE ADVENTURE — Face mysterious foes, travel across exciting landscapes, and venture into perilous dimensions.
- PLAY TOGETHER — Play cross-platform with friends in Bedrock Edition on console, mobile, and PC, or join community servers in Java Edition on PC, Mac, and Linux. Online console multiplayer requires a platform-specific subscription (sold separately).
Who it suits
- Players who want mostly recognizable Minecraft with deeper automation.
- Small groups that enjoy setting shared building or factory goals rather than following quests.
- Builders and explorers who value storage, travel and map conveniences.
- Players willing to learn Create’s mechanical systems gradually.
Who may prefer another type of pack
If you want a strongly guided progression tree, mandatory milestones or a large magic-and-combat overhaul, the absence of a quest book and the Create-centered design may feel too open-ended.

| Minecraft version | 1.21.1 |
| Mod loader | NeoForge |
| Client installation | CurseForge app, Minecraft modpack section |
| Minimum allocated memory | 3 GB |
| Recommended allocated memory | 4–6 GB |
| OptiFine | Explicitly marked incompatible; do not add it |
| Dedicated-server package | Holycube Revolution-1.1.0_serverfiles, for Minecraft 1.21.1 NeoForge |
| Progression style | Open-ended and self-directed; no quest book |
The memory figures are the project’s published guidance, listed by MLDEG/CurseForge in 2025, rather than an independent benchmark. Treat 4–6 GB as a practical starting range, not a guarantee for every computer, world size or player count.
Recommended Free Tools
Before installing the client
Prepare the computer before opening the launcher. Close other memory-heavy programs during the first launch, especially browsers with many tabs, game clients, video editors and virtual machines. The allocated amount is reserved from physical system memory, so assigning more than the computer can spare can make both Minecraft and the operating system unstable.
- Install the current CurseForge app for Minecraft.
- Ensure the computer can run Minecraft 1.21.1 and NeoForge.
- Have enough free storage for the profile, downloaded mods and its worlds.
- Do not plan to add OptiFine. The project explicitly marks it incompatible.
- If you are joining a friend’s server, identify the exact pack release they are running before creating your profile.
Install Holycube Revolution through CurseForge
- Open the CurseForge app and select Minecraft.
- Open Browse or Discover, then choose the modpacks category.
- Search for Holycube Revolution and confirm that the author is MLDEG. Several similarly named projects can appear in search results.
- Open the project page and check that the profile targets Minecraft 1.21.1 and NeoForge.
- Select Install and wait while CurseForge downloads the profile and its dependencies.
- Open My Modpacks, select Holycube Revolution and choose Play to launch it.
CurseForge also supports starting the installation from its website and handing it off to the app. Whichever route you use, the version and loader shown on the profile page are the checks that matter. Do not substitute a Fabric, Forge or different Minecraft release merely because it has a similar name.
Verify the profile after installation
Before creating a long-term world, open the installed profile’s details and confirm the Minecraft version and NeoForge loader again. Launch once to the main menu, then quit. This first run lets the launcher finish configuration and exposes missing-runtime or permission errors before you invest time in a world.
Set memory correctly
Use 3 GB only as the floor
The project lists 3 GB as the minimum allocation. It may be enough for a light test on a computer with ample unused memory, but it leaves less headroom for larger bases, more entities, resource-heavy Create machinery or several players.

Start at 4–6 GB when possible
The published recommendation is 4–6 GB. Start near the lower end if the computer has limited physical memory and move upward only when there is a clear memory-related problem. A larger allocation does not automatically improve performance; the operating system and other applications still need RAM.
Change allocation in the launcher
Open the Minecraft settings for the CurseForge profile and locate its memory or allocated-RAM control. Set a value within the project’s range, save it and relaunch. CurseForge’s exact control placement can change between app versions, so use the profile’s settings rather than editing unrelated Java arguments. If the launcher displays the value in megabytes, 3 GB is approximately 3,072 MB and 6 GB is approximately 6,144 MB.
If the first launch fails with an out-of-memory message, close other heavy applications and test 4 GB. Increase toward 6 GB only if the computer has sufficient physical memory. If the error persists at 6 GB, look for a loader, Java-runtime, mod or world problem instead of assigning unlimited memory.
Keep clients and server on one exact release
Modded multiplayer is sensitive to both the Minecraft/NeoForge combination and the pack’s individual release. Every client should use the same Holycube Revolution release as the server, not merely “the latest version” visible in a launcher.
- Record the server’s pack release before inviting anyone.
- Install that release in CurseForge rather than allowing a client to update independently.
- Keep Minecraft at 1.21.1 and NeoForge on both sides.
- Do not add or remove mods casually. A single changed dependency can cause a connection rejection or a mismatched registry.
When the server owner updates, shut the server down, back up the world, update the server files and have every player update their client before reconnecting. Keep an older profile available until the new release has been tested.
Prepare a dedicated server
The project publishes a separate server-files artifact named Holycube Revolution-1.1.0_serverfiles for Minecraft 1.21.1 NeoForge. Use that package, rather than copying a client’s profile directory and hoping it behaves like a server.

Choose where it will run
- Home computer: You control the files and backups, but the machine must remain powered and reachable, and your network may require firewall and router configuration.
- Managed host: The provider handles much of the uptime and panel administration. Confirm the exact pack release, NeoForge support and server-file import capability before paying.
- Separate machine: A spare computer can keep the game server away from your daily workstation, but you still administer its operating system, storage and network access.
Use a clean directory dedicated to this server. Avoid placing it inside another modpack’s folder, because leftover mods, configuration files or worlds can produce misleading startup errors.
Server setup: step by step
- Obtain the matching server-files release. Download
Holycube Revolution-1.1.0_serverfilesthat corresponds to the client release you intend to use. If the project has published a newer matching release since that package, use the release selected for your group on both client and server. - Create a clean server directory. Give it a dedicated location with enough free storage for the server files, logs and world backups.
- Unpack the archive. Preserve the directory structure supplied by the project. Do not merge it with another NeoForge installation.
- Run the included NeoForge setup or start process. Use the setup/start script supplied in the archive for your operating system. It will create or prepare the files needed for the first server launch. If it reports a missing Java runtime or a version mismatch, install the runtime required by that NeoForge release and run the supplied process again.
- Accept the Minecraft EULA. When the first run creates
eula.txt, open it, read the linked Minecraft EULA and change the acceptance line toeula=trueonly if you agree to the terms. - Start the server again. Relaunch through the included start process and wait for the console to report that the server has finished loading. The first startup can take longer while files and configurations are generated.
- Stop it cleanly. Use the server console’s stop command or the control supplied by the hosting panel. Do not routinely close the terminal or power off the machine while the world is saving.
- Test locally first. Join from the same machine or local network before configuring access for friends. This separates pack or loader problems from router and firewall problems.
The archive’s scripts and file names are authoritative. Do not rename loader files or replace the supplied start process with a command copied from a different Minecraft version.
Give the server a safe operating routine
Decide who is responsible for the server files before the first shared session. Keep the owner account, server directory and backup location separate from ordinary downloads. If several people administer the world, agree on who may update mods, change configuration files or restore a backup. Uncoordinated edits are a common cause of “works for one player” problems.
- Save a dated copy of the world before every pack update.
- Keep logs from a failed startup instead of deleting them immediately.
- Record the working pack release and loader so you can roll back deliberately.
- Test updates with one or two players before announcing the new release to everyone.
- Do not copy a live world while the server is still writing to it; stop the server first.
For a small private group, this routine is usually more valuable than repeatedly increasing memory. It gives you a known-good recovery point when a configuration change, update or interrupted shutdown causes trouble.
Let friends connect
Once local testing works, make the server reachable from each player’s location. A home-hosted server normally requires an operating-system firewall rule and, where the network is behind a router, port forwarding to the computer running the server. The exact screens and values depend on the router, internet provider and whether the connection uses carrier-grade NAT.
- Give friends the address and port shown by your host or network configuration, not a private local address that only works inside your home.
- Keep the server running while they test.
- Check that the firewall allows the Java server process.
- If local players can join but remote players cannot, investigate router forwarding, public-address changes or provider restrictions before changing mods.
- If nobody can join, read the server console for startup errors first; network changes cannot fix a server that never finished loading.
A managed host usually supplies a connection address in its panel and handles the public network path. You still need to distribute the same client pack release to every player.

Managed hosting: what to verify
VeryGames advertises automatic Holycube Revolution installation in its administration panel. Automatic deployment can reduce manual archive handling, but an installation button is not proof that the currently offered release matches your group’s requirements. Verify the following in writing or in the panel before purchasing:
| Check | Question to answer |
|---|---|
| Game and loader | Does the plan run Minecraft 1.21.1 with NeoForge? |
| Pack deployment | Can it install the exact Holycube Revolution release or import the published server-files package? |
| Resources | How much RAM and CPU time are assigned, and can the allocation be changed? |
| Recovery | Are automated backups available, and can you restore an individual world backup? |
| Administration | Can you access files, logs and the live console? |
| Location | Is there a data-center region close enough to the intended players for acceptable latency? |
| Billing | What is the current introductory price, renewal price and cancellation policy? |
Prices and availability change, and the published pack information does not establish a complete current US hosting-price comparison. Treat the checks above as purchase prerequisites rather than assuming that an advertised one-click option includes every server-file release.
Performance and stability checklist
- Use 4–6 GB when the host computer can spare it; do not starve the operating system to reach the upper end.
- Close heavy applications during initial testing.
- Keep the server and all clients on the same pack release.
- Leave OptiFine out of both the client and server environment.
- Watch the server console during startup and when a player joins. Repeated errors are more useful than changing several settings at once.
- Back up the world before updating the pack, changing major configuration files or experimenting with additional mods.
- Stop the server cleanly before copying a world or replacing server files.
Troubleshooting common failures
The profile will not install
Return to the project page in CurseForge, verify that the result is MLDEG’s Holycube Revolution, and check the displayed Minecraft 1.21.1 and NeoForge values. Cancel a partially created profile and retry in a clean location if the download repeatedly stops. A different loader or similarly named pack will not be an equivalent substitute.
The game crashes when launching
Confirm the profile is using NeoForge and that OptiFine has not been added. Close other heavy applications, test the published 4–6 GB range and read the crash report for the first named mod or dependency. If the profile was manually edited, reinstalling the unmodified release is a faster diagnostic than removing random files.
The server stops during startup
Check whether the EULA was accepted, whether the required Java runtime is available and whether the supplied NeoForge setup/start process was used from the server directory. A clean directory helps distinguish a real pack issue from files left by another installation.
Clients are rejected as incompatible
Compare the complete pack release, Minecraft version and NeoForge loader on the server and the player’s CurseForge profile. Have the player launch the installed Holycube Revolution profile instead of a manually assembled mod list. Remove any extra client-only additions, beginning with OptiFine.
Best Value
- Play and share with friends on console, mobile and Windows 10
- discover community creations in the new in-game store
- access new mini games and game modes through servers
Players cannot connect from outside the host network
First confirm that the server console shows a completed startup and that a local connection works. Then check the firewall, router forwarding and the address being shared. If the host uses a managed panel, use the address displayed there. Network reachability problems should be solved separately from mod-version problems.
The world feels slow after adding machinery
Check the server’s memory and CPU use rather than immediately adding more mods or assigning unlimited RAM. Keep the published 4–6 GB target in view, close unrelated applications and test with the same player count and world area. Make a backup before changing configuration or updating the pack.
Updating without risking the world
- Announce a maintenance window and stop the server cleanly.
- Copy the world and important configuration files to a separate backup location.
- Record the current Holycube Revolution release, Minecraft version and NeoForge version.
- Install the new server-files release in a separate directory instead of overwriting the working installation.
- Test the backed-up world with the new files.
- Update every player’s CurseForge profile to the identical release.
- Keep the previous server directory until the group has connected successfully and the world has been checked.
If the new release fails, stop it, restore the backup and return to the previously working files. Never test an unverified update against the only copy of a long-running world.
What to expect in play
Your first useful milestone is usually a small Create system that processes or moves resources reliably. From there, add the Create extensions and storage tools as your designs become more ambitious. Waystones and JourneyMap make travel and route planning less cumbersome, while backpack and inventory features reduce the time spent moving materials by hand.
Because there is no quest book, agree on goals with friends if you want a shared sense of progression: for example, a communal processing line, a transport network, a themed town or an exploration map. These are player-created objectives, not required steps imposed by the pack.
Bottom line
For a reliable Holycube Revolution setup, select Minecraft 1.21.1 and NeoForge in CurseForge, allocate at least 3 GB (preferably 4–6 GB when the computer allows), avoid OptiFine and keep one exact pack release across every client and the server. Use the project’s separate Holycube Revolution-1.1.0_serverfiles package for a dedicated server, accept the EULA during first startup, test locally, then configure network access or a managed host. Expect a Create-led, vanilla-plus experience in which your group supplies the goals instead of following a quest book.
