Owners of the 2025 Switch version can claim the Switch 2 upgrade free through November 4; from November 5, the upgrade costs $9.99, £4.99 or €4.99. New buyers get an introductory price before the regular price takes effect.
Release date and what each buyer pays
Feral Interactive’s Switch 2 Edition arrives nearly a year after Nintendo released the original Switch version on November 13, 2025. The new edition is an eShop release announced for October 22. No official announcement confirms a physical Switch 2 cartridge, so buyers should plan around a digital purchase unless Nintendo or Feral later lists a cartridge edition.

|---|---|
| Existing Switch owner | Free upgrade from October 22 through November 4, 2026 |
| Existing Switch owner after the free period | $9.99 / £4.99 / €4.99 from November 5, 2026 |

The free-upgrade cutoff is November 4, not the launch date. Existing owners need to claim the upgrade during that window; waiting until November 5 turns it into a paid add-on. The regional prices are listed separately by Feral and should not be treated as a currency conversion.
What improves on Switch 2
Feral’s announcement focuses on image quality, frame rate and controls rather than new campaign content. The Switch 2 Edition brings increased resolution in both handheld and docked play, with handheld performance reaching up to 60 frames per second. It also improves animations and visual effects, level of detail, shadows and texture filtering.
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Handheld play
The higher-resolution presentation is intended to make environments, character models and distant objects clearer on the Switch 2 screen. Feral specifies performance of up to 60 FPS in handheld mode; “up to” describes the advertised ceiling, not a guarantee that every scene remains at that rate.
Docked play
Docked mode receives the resolution upgrade and the same visual refinements. The announcement does not publish a separate docked frame-rate target, so buyers should not assume that the handheld 60-FPS statement applies identically when the console is connected to a television.

Joy-Con 2 mouse controls
Switch 2 Edition adds Joy-Con 2 Mouse Controls. The feature requires Joy-Con 2 hardware; it is not an upgrade to the original Switch Joy-Con control scheme.

What is already in the Switch version
Nintendo’s 2025 product listing describes a 20-mission game starring Agent 47, “the ultimate assassin.” The original Switch release includes gyro aiming and Instinct Mode, and its download size is 15.6 GB. Those details establish the baseline package; the Switch 2 announcement highlights technical and control improvements rather than a different mission count.

How this fits the wider Hitman announcement
IO Interactive announced Feral’s Switch 2 port in June 2026 alongside a Saber Interactive remastered trilogy, a Laced Records vinyl collection and a MOOD Publishing board game. Those projects are separate from the October 22 eShop release. Their final retail availability and any purchase terms can vary, so they should not be confused with the Switch 2 Edition upgrade or its deadline.
