Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallThere is no defensible price winner from the published figures alone. OVHcloud publishes India prices and lists Mumbai, but its Mumbai projects get 1 TB of outbound public traffic per month before overage charges. Hetzner offers Singapore Cloud for customers in India—not an India data centre—with plan-dependent traffic allowances. To compare the two for a 24/7 YouTube stream, price a specific instance and calculate its monthly transfer from your actual stream bitrate; then confirm taxes, add-ons and overage rates at checkout.
What you are paying to do
A cloud VM used to send a continuous stream to YouTube uploads the stream to YouTube’s ingest servers. YouTube handles delivery to viewers; the VM’s outbound traffic estimate should not treat viewers as if they connect directly to the VM unless your architecture actually serves them that way.

Because the stream runs continuously, outbound transfer is a major cost input alongside compute, storage and IP charges. The appropriate instance also depends on the encoding workload: a listed vCPU count or public network capacity alone does not prove that a VM will sustain a particular encoding setup or guarantee throughput to YouTube.

Use the bitrate actually sent by your encoder, not a provider’s network-capacity figure. For a constant bitrate in megabits per second, a rough 30-day estimate is:
#1 Best Overall
Monthly transfer in decimal TB ≈ bitrate in Mbps × 0.324
This follows from bitrate × 1,000,000 bits/second × 2,592,000 seconds in 30 days, divided by 8 bits per byte and 1,000,000,000,000 bytes per decimal TB. For example, at 6 Mbps the stream uses roughly 1.94 decimal TB in 30 days, before protocol overhead or other VM traffic. This is an illustration, not a recommended YouTube bitrate. Use your own encoder setting and the provider’s billing definition of TB when checking allowance and overage.

Published prices and bandwidth, compared
The figures below are official-page snapshots accessed on 2026-10-03, not guaranteed checkout totals. OVHcloud’s India page presents the stated instance amounts excluding VAT. Hetzner’s Singapore page gives the included traffic range and overage rate, but a current price for a suitable Singapore plan is not established here. |---|---|---|
| Location relevant to India | Mumbai is listed. The figures below are from OVHcloud India’s pricing page. | Singapore is marketed to customers in India. Hetzner’s listed locations are Germany, Finland, Singapore and the United States; it does not list an India data centre. |
| Example instance resources and monthly charge | d2-2: 1 vCore, 2 GB RAM, 25 GB storage, 100 Mbit/s public network; ₹579/month. d2-4: 2 vCores, 4 GB RAM, 50 GB storage, 250 Mbit/s; ₹1,161/month. d2-8: 4 vCores, 8 GB RAM, 50 GB storage, 500 Mbit/s; ₹2,089/month. Prices exclude VAT. | Current Singapore price and matching resource specification: not stated on the retrieved Singapore pricing information. Request a live quote for the plan you intend to use. |
| Other listed family | Gen 3 B3 examples: b3-8 at about ₹3,796/month and b3-16 at about ₹7,577.40/month, excluding VAT. These are a different resource family from the d2 examples, so sticker price alone is not a like-for-like comparison. | Not stated for a comparable plan. |
| Included outbound public traffic | 1 TB/month per Public Cloud project in Mumbai. OVHcloud also identifies Singapore and Sydney as locations with this allowance. | Between 0.5 TB and 5 TB/month, depending on the Singapore Cloud plan. |
| Traffic beyond allowance | Additional GB are charged in Mumbai; the exact Mumbai overage rate was not exposed in the retrieved pricing-page content. Check the live rate before estimating a total. | $8.49/TB beyond the plan’s allowance, according to Hetzner’s Singapore Cloud page. |
| Storage and public IPv4 add-ons | OVHcloud says local storage and IPv4 are billed separately for B3 instances from 1 October 2026. Its page displays public IPv4 at about ₹199.8594/month, excluding VAT. Verify the selected instance’s storage and IP line items at checkout. | Not stated in the retrieved Singapore pricing information; confirm the selected plan’s included resources and any add-ons in the live quote. |
| Tax and pricing basis | Instance prices above exclude VAT. OVHcloud states that its Gen 3 instance monthly estimate uses 730 hours/month. | Confirm the applicable tax and payment total in the live quote; a current India-converted total for a comparable plan is not established. |
OVHcloud’s Mumbai allowance is per Public Cloud project, not a separate 1 TB allowance for each VM in the same project. The exact charge for exceeding it matters: without that rate and your project’s other outbound usage, the published instance price cannot establish the monthly total.

How to decide which quote is cheaper for your stream
- Set the workload. Record the video’s playback/encoding approach, the outgoing bitrate, whether the VM must encode or only relay a prepared stream, and any redundancy requirement. The provider pages do not specify a stream bitrate or a universal instance size for this job.
- Choose comparable locations and resources. Compare Mumbai with Singapore only after deciding which latency and operational trade-offs fit your source and workflow. Match CPU, RAM, storage and network needs as closely as possible; do not compare OVHcloud’s smallest d2 sticker price with an unverified Hetzner configuration and call the result a winner.
- Calculate traffic. Multiply the stream bitrate by 0.324 for a rough decimal TB estimate over 30 days, then add other outbound usage and allow for overhead. Compare the result with the applicable provider allowance, observing that OVHcloud’s Mumbai allowance is shared per project.
- Build the full monthly total. Include instance hours, traffic overage, applicable VAT or other taxes, public IPv4, local storage, and any other selected options. Confirm which items recur and the units used for bandwidth billing.
- Check live pricing before ordering. Ask OVHcloud for the Mumbai overage rate and verify B3 IP/storage line items if choosing B3. Obtain Hetzner’s current Singapore quote and confirm the selected plan’s traffic quota. Prices can change; the 2026-10-03 page snapshots are not a substitute for checkout.
A 100 Mbit/s advertised public network figure is a capacity description, not proof of guaranteed end-to-end YouTube ingest throughput or a service-level commitment for a continuous stream. If stream continuity is important, assess recovery and redundancy separately from the headline VM price.
Why an old Hetzner quote can mislead
Hetzner’s June 6, 2024 announcement listed the CX22 at €3.79/month with 2 vCPU, 4 GB RAM, a 40 GB disk and 20 TB of included traffic. That is historical context, not a current quote for a Singapore Cloud VM in 2026. Hetzner’s changelog says new Cloud pricing applied to new orders and rescales from June 15, 2026. Use a current Singapore quote rather than carrying forward the older price or allowance.

Keep a YouTube stream running without managing a VM
If your goal is a 24/7 YouTube channel rather than a cloud-server project, StreamNeo is the first alternative to consider: it keeps uploaded videos playing from the cloud, at any quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot, and the first day is free.
Or let it run in the cloud
- Upload a recording or build a playlist.
- Add your YouTube stream key once.
- Go live; StreamNeo loops the uploaded video from the cloud.
Your computer and home connection do not have to stay on. Every slot supports the uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one price, and StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Plans use the same product and vary by duration; monthly is $9.99 per month. India customers can pay by UPI or card; card checkout is available worldwide. Start the free day at https://app.streamneo.com/register.
