Samsung’s Quick Settings panel is the fastest way to toggle Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, mobile data, and device controls without hunting through menus. In One UI 7, the panel is still built for speed—but the layout is customizable enough that you can make it feel like it was designed around your daily routine.
This guide walks you through every reliable way to change Samsung’s Quick Settings panel in One UI 7: the built-in editor, resetting to defaults, and deeper adjustments using Good Lock (QuickStar). If your edit option is missing or your changes won’t stick, the troubleshooting section covers the most common causes.

What Samsung’s Quick Settings panel is (and what you can change in One UI 7)
The Quick Settings panel is the set of toggles and shortcuts you see when you swipe down from the top of the screen. You can typically control three things: which tiles appear, the order of those tiles, and (depending on your configuration) the appearance or behavior of the panel across multiple quick pages.
In One UI 7, the most important customization is tile management. That means adding the controls you actually use and removing the ones you never touch.

Prerequisites before you start
Before you edit the panel, confirm these basics are true so you don’t waste time troubleshooting the wrong thing.
- Device runs One UI 7: Go to Settings > About phone > Software information and check the One UI version.
- You can access Quick Settings: Swipe down from the top of the screen to open the panel.
- Your UI isn’t locked: If you’re in a constrained mode (work profile restrictions, kiosk mode, some managed devices), editing may be disabled.
- Enough screen space: Some tiles won’t appear if the panel is full or if a layout page is already at capacity.
Method 1: Customize Quick Settings from the panel itself
This is the fastest route and the one most people should use. Samsung provides a built-in edit view right from Quick Settings.
Step-by-step (add, remove, reorder)
- Swipe down once from the top of the screen to reveal the notification shade.
- Swipe down again (or swipe further) to expand the full Quick Settings panel.
- Look for an Edit option—often shown as a pencil icon, Edit text, or a + tile area depending on your device.
- Tap Edit / the pencil.
- To remove a tile: drag it out to a remove area (if shown) or tap the tile and choose Remove (the exact wording varies by build).
- To add a tile: tap tiles in the available list to include them.
- To reorder tiles: press and hold a tile, then drag it left/right to the position you want.
- Tap Done to save.
When done correctly, the next time you pull down Quick Settings, the tiles appear in your chosen order.
How many tiles you can fit and what happens when space is tight
If you add too many tiles for the visible row, Samsung will often place the extras on another Quick Settings “page” or require you to remove something to keep the layout tidy. When you’re editing, watch for any “page” indicators or empty slots that show where a tile can land.
If you see that a tile keeps bouncing to the next page after you drag it, that’s a layout constraint—not a bug. Trim the tile count on the first page first, then re-add the rest.
Using different layouts (if your device shows multiple quick pages)
Some One UI builds show multiple Quick Settings pages when you swipe horizontally inside the panel. If your editor displays a second page:

- Reorder the first page tiles to match your most frequent actions.
- Put less-used controls on later pages so your top row stays clean.
Method 2: Reset to the default Quick Settings layout
If your panel becomes cluttered, or your edits started behaving oddly, resetting is usually the quickest way to restore a known-good configuration.
When to reset
- You can’t find the missing tile you expect to exist.
- Tiles reorder themselves after you finish editing.
- A Good Lock tweak caused unexpected changes and you want to return to Samsung defaults.
In the Quick Settings edit screen, look for a Reset, Restore defaults, or similar option. If you don’t see it in the quick editor, use the Good Lock route in Method 3 to disable customizations (that’s often what’s actually affecting your panel).
Method 3: Make deeper changes with Good Lock (QuickStar)
Built-in editing controls tiles, but Samsung’s third-party customization suite—Good Lock—can add extra control over panel behavior and visuals. The relevant module is typically QuickStar.
Install Good Lock and enable QuickStar
- Open the Galaxy Store.
- Search for Good Lock and install it.
- Open Good Lock and find QuickStar in the module list.
- Install/enable QuickStar and grant any requested permissions.
If QuickStar is available for your region/device model, it should show up as its own module with toggles and configuration screens.
Customize tiles, appearance, and panel behavior
Inside QuickStar, look for settings related to Quick Panel / Quick Settings. Depending on your build, you may be able to adjust things like:
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →- Quick panel layout behavior (for example, page arrangement rules)
- Which quick controls appear and how they’re grouped
- Visual density or panel style options (varies by version)
After you change a QuickStar setting, pull down Quick Settings immediately to verify the result. If nothing changes, reboot once—some panel changes apply after a system UI refresh.

Keep your changes stable after updates
After major One UI updates, Good Lock modules can be reset or temporarily incompatible. If your QuickStar customization stops working:
- Update QuickStar from Galaxy Store (and update Good Lock if prompted).
- Recheck QuickStar’s toggle switches.
- Restart the phone once.
Method 4: Use system features that indirectly affect Quick Settings
Some Quick Settings tiles don’t exist as simple “tiles” in every configuration. Instead, they’re derived from system features like notifications, device controls, and automation tools.
Notifications and device control options
If a tile you want isn’t appearing in the Quick Settings editor, check whether the underlying feature is enabled. For example, controls tied to connectivity or device ecosystems may require specific permissions or active settings.
Typical places to verify:
- Settings > Connections (for Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, and related toggles)
- Settings > Notifications (for panels or connected devices behavior)
Modes and routines interactions
Modes and Routines can change what controls you rely on. While routines generally don’t “rebuild” your tile order, they can make certain toggles appear more frequently in your workflow—so it’s worth aligning your Quick Settings layout with how your routines actually behave.
Common problems and troubleshooting
Quick Settings customization is usually straightforward, but One UI updates and managed-device restrictions can cause surprises. Here are the most common failure points.
Quick Settings edit button/pencil is missing
Try these fixes in order:
- Make sure you expanded Quick Settings fully (often you need two swipes down, not one).
- Pull down, then wait 1–2 seconds—some UI states load the edit control slightly later.
- Check for an Edit option near the top of the panel, not only in the tiles row.
- If you’re using a work profile or managed device, editing may be restricted. Test on a personal profile if you have one.
Changes don’t save or revert
If you reorder tiles and they snap back after you tap Done, the most common causes are a UI refresh issue or a competing customization layer (often Good Lock).

- Disable QuickStar temporarily and test the built-in editor again.
- Restart the phone.
- Update System UI / One UI components if your system offers updates.
Tiles are greyed out or missing
Two scenarios cause this: the feature behind the tile is disabled, or the editor’s available list changes based on device state.

Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →- Enable the underlying feature (for example, connectivity features under Connections).

If a tile truly can’t be added, it may not be supported on your specific model/region or your current One UI 7 build.
QuickStar changes break after an update
When updates land, Good Lock modules may need an update or a re-enable.
- Update Good Lock and QuickStar from Galaxy Store.
- Open QuickStar and confirm the Quick panel customization options are turned on.
- Restart the phone to force a UI refresh.
If it still fails, temporarily disable QuickStar to regain the built-in editor behavior.

Customizing is only useful if your layout reduces taps. A good rule: put your “daily controls” on the first visible page and keep it under a comfortable count so your most used tiles don’t get pushed to another page.

FAQ: Changing Samsung Quick Settings panel in One UI 7
Why can’t I add a specific tile to Quick Settings?
Some tiles depend on device support, region, or whether the underlying feature is enabled. Open the feature settings first (Connections/Notifications as relevant), then re-check the Quick Settings editor’s available tile list.
Does Good Lock replace the built-in Quick Settings editor?
No. Built-in editing still works, but QuickStar can add extra control that may override visual/layout expectations. If something looks wrong, disable QuickStar to isolate whether the issue comes from Good Lock or Samsung’s built-in tile manager.
Will my Quick Settings layout survive a software update?
Often yes, but major One UI updates can reset some panel customizations—especially those tied to Good Lock modules. After updating, check QuickStar and confirm it’s enabled and up to date.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
How do I make sure I’m editing the correct Quick Settings page?
In the edit screen, look for cues that indicate multiple pages (or tile groups). Reorder tiles while watching where they land—if tiles jump to a second page, reduce the number on the first page and try again.
Where do I find the reset option?
Usually it’s located inside the Quick Settings edit UI. If you don’t see it, reset via disabling Good Lock customizations (QuickStar) or restore defaults from the relevant module’s settings.
Bottom Line
To change Samsung’s Quick Settings panel in One UI 7, start with the built-in editor: expand Quick Settings, tap Edit, then add/remove/reorder tiles and hit Done. For deeper control, use Good Lock’s QuickStar—especially if you want more than basic tile placement.
If the editor button is missing or your changes revert, the fix is usually one of three things: you didn’t fully expand Quick Settings, the device is managed/restricted, or QuickStar is overriding the layout. Troubleshoot in that order and your panel should return to the layout you want.
