The Helio G91 is the stronger option on paper: it has a higher listed GPU clock, explicit support for displays up to 90 Hz, a higher camera ISP specification, and higher scores on 91mobiles’ processor pages. The Helio G70 shares many platform basics, including the same broad CPU core families, 4G connectivity, and memory and storage types. Benchmark results are device observations, however, not guaranteed scores for every phone using either chip.

| Memory and storage | LPDDR4X, up to 8 GB; eMMC 5.1 | LPDDR4X, up to 8 GB; eMMC 5.1 |
| Maximum listed display capability | Up to 2520 × 1080; MediaTek’s page does not list a maximum refresh rate | Up to 2520 × 1080 at up to 90 Hz |
| Camera capability listed | 16 MP + 16 MP or 48 MP ISP configuration | 16 MP + 16 MP or 64 MP ISP configuration; MediaTek’s page also promotes support for 108 MP cameras and in-sensor zoom |
| Cellular and wireless | 4G LTE; Wi-Fi 5; Bluetooth 5.0 | 4G LTE; Wi-Fi 5; Bluetooth 5.0 |
| Video encoding and playback | H.264/H.265; up to 2K at 30 fps or 1080p at 60 fps | H.264/H.265; up to 2K at 30 fps or 1080p at 60 fps |
The official MediaTek specifications show that the chips share the same GPU model, memory and storage classes, wireless standards, and listed video modes. Their clearest published differences are the G91’s higher GPU frequency and its stated 90 Hz display ceiling. A phone manufacturer chooses the panel, memory configuration, camera hardware, and other components, so these chipset limits do not guarantee a particular handset’s features.

CPU: similar core design, slightly different reported small-core speed
Both processors use two Cortex-A75 performance cores alongside six Cortex-A55 cores. MediaTek lists the G70’s per-core maximums as 2.0 GHz and 1.7 GHz, respectively. Its G91 specification page lists the core types and a 2 GHz maximum but does not give the same per-core breakdown in the retrieved specification text. 91mobiles reports the G91’s A75 cores at 2.0 GHz and A55 cores at 1.8 GHz.
That reported 0.1 GHz difference on the A55 cores is modest, and the available figures do not establish how much faster a particular G91 phone will feel. Phone design, software, memory configuration, and cooling also shape everyday performance.

GPU and display: G91 has the stronger listed limits
Both chips use the Arm Mali-G52 MC2 GPU, but MediaTek lists it at up to 820 MHz on the G70 and up to 1 GHz on the G91. The higher G91 clock is a specification advantage, not a promise of higher frame rates in every game. The benchmark breakdown reported by 91mobiles even gives the tested G91 device a lower GPU subscore than its G70 result, illustrating why clock speed alone cannot settle real-world graphics performance.
Both platforms support a maximum listed resolution of 2520 × 1080. MediaTek explicitly lists support for refresh rates up to 90 Hz on the G91 page, while the G70 page does not state a maximum refresh rate. The phone maker must still fit a suitable display for users to see that capability.
Camera specifications are platform ceilings, not image-quality ratings
MediaTek lists a 48 MP camera ISP capability for the G70 and a 64 MP capability for the G91, alongside dual-camera configurations of 16 MP + 16 MP. The G91 product page also promotes 108 MP camera support and in-sensor zoom. These numbers describe platform capability; they do not show which sensor a phone uses, how its camera is implemented, or how its photos will look.

Benchmark comparison: reported device scores
The following figures are the scores displayed on 91mobiles’ processor pages for devices using each chipset. The site describes its AnTuTu result as the highest recorded for any device running the relevant chipset and says its figures come from real-world testing of powered devices. The pages do not establish a controlled comparison using identical phone hardware, software, cooling, or test conditions. They also do not give a publication date for these exact displayed scores; 2026 is the access year, not a claimed test date.
Rank #2

| Benchmark score reported by 91mobiles | Helio G70 | Helio G91 |
|---|---|---|
| AnTuTu total | 195,041 | 265,150 |
| Geekbench single-core | 388 | 412 |
| Geekbench multi-core | 1,292 | 1,448 |
The listed total and Geekbench results favor the G91, but scores can vary with the handset and benchmark version. 91mobiles’ reported AnTuTu component scores are:
| AnTuTu component | Helio G70 device | Helio G91 device |
|---|---|---|
| CPU | 71,091 | 84,550 |
| GPU | 41,061 | 38,034 |
| Memory | 40,797 | 69,828 |
| UX | 42,092 | 72,738 |
The GPU component is lower in the reported G91 device result, despite the G91’s higher listed GPU clock. These are observations from device testing, not a chip-only laboratory comparison, so they should not be read as a universal ranking for every phone.

Choose a phone with the Helio G91 if
- You want the stronger published specification set between these two platforms.
- A 90 Hz display is important, and the specific phone actually includes a 90 Hz panel.
- You are comparing otherwise similar handsets and value the G91’s higher listed GPU frequency and the higher scores reported on the cited processor pages.
The Helio G70 may still be enough if
- The G70 phone offers a better overall fit for your budget or needs.
- You want a 4G platform with the same broad CPU core families and shared basics such as LPDDR4X, eMMC 5.1, Wi-Fi 5, and Bluetooth 5.0.
When choosing between actual phones, compare their prices, RAM and storage configurations, screen quality and refresh rate, battery and charging, camera implementation, software support, and thermal behavior. The chipset comparison cannot determine those handset-level trade-offs.
