Quick wins for a faster PC:
Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →The Helio G37 has a small listed CPU-clock advantage over the Helio G36: its four faster Cortex-A53 cores are specified at up to 2.3 GHz, versus 2.2 GHz on the G36. Both are octa-core chips with the same listed PowerVR GE8320 GPU. NanoReview’s available benchmark aggregates lean toward the G37, but the small, uneven samples do not establish how two otherwise identical phones would compare.
Helio G37 vs Helio G36 specifications
The chips share most of the platform specifications in the available comparison. The clearest listed difference is the maximum frequency of the four faster CPU cores.

The side-by-side specifications come from NanoReview’s comparison. MediaTek’s Helio G36 product page independently lists its 12 nm process, memory and storage support, GE8320 graphics, and camera, display and connectivity capabilities. The G37 camera figure is secondary-source information; a corresponding accessible MediaTek specification page was not available for confirmation.
What the CPU and GPU differences mean
CPU: a modest clock increase on the G37
Both chips use eight Cortex-A53 cores, with four cores listed at 1.8 GHz. The G37’s other four cores are listed at 2.3 GHz, 100 MHz above the G36’s 2.2 GHz. That is a difference in maximum specified frequency, not proof of a fixed real-world speed gain: the outcome depends on the phone’s software, cooling, memory configuration and workload.

GPU: the same listed graphics hardware
Both comparisons list the PowerVR GE8320 at 680 MHz. That shared specification does not guarantee identical game performance across phones. Manufacturers choose the finished device’s configuration, and performance can vary with cooling, software and other handset differences.
Benchmark comparison
The figures below are NanoReview’s displayed aggregates, retrieved in 2026. They are not results from a controlled test of the two chips in matched phones.
Rank #2
- Carrier: This phone is locked to Tracfone, which means this device can only be used on the Tracfone wireless network. Tracfone plan required, activating is easy, just 3 steps.
- DISPLAY: Immersive viewing on a 6.7-inch super-bright 120Hz display with powerful stereo speakers and Bass Boost for cinematic entertainment.
- CAMERA SYSTEM: Advanced 50MP Quad Pixel camera captures sharp, detailed photos and videos in any lighting condition
- PERFORMANCE: Lightning-fast 5G connectivity paired with a powerful processor and RAM Boost for smooth multitasking.
- BATTERY LIFE: Long-lasting 5000mAh battery with TurboPower charging technology delivers hours of power in minutes.
| Benchmark | Helio G37 | Helio G36 | Reported sample counts |
|---|---|---|---|
| AnTuTu 11 | 215,798 | 193,858 | 4 G37 tests; 9 G36 tests |
| Geekbench 6 single-core | 198 | 189 | 5 G37 tests; 3 G36 tests |
| Geekbench 6 multi-core | 868 | 781 | 5 G37 tests; 3 G36 tests |
The available aggregate scores favor the G37 in all three rows, but the samples are small and unequal. They combine results from devices and software that may differ, so they should not be treated as a reliable percentage improvement or a promise about a particular phone. The shared GPU specification also gives no basis for claiming a substantial gaming advantage from the CPU clock difference alone. The figures and counts are shown on NanoReview’s comparison page.
Display and camera features are not guaranteed in every phone
MediaTek describes G36 capabilities including support for displays up to 90 Hz, cameras up to 50 MP, electronic image stabilization (EIS) and rolling-shutter compensation. These are platform capabilities for phone makers to use, not a promise that every G36 handset includes a 90 Hz screen, a 50 MP sensor or those camera functions. Retail phone makers also choose the actual display, camera sensor, memory and cooling implementation.

A 2023 AnTuTu report on MediaTek’s G36 announcement contrasts the G36’s 50 MP camera support with the G37’s earlier camera capability. That comparison is not independently confirmed here by an accessible primary G37 specification page.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Which is better, Helio G37 or Helio G36?
At the chip-specification level, the G37 has the edge in listed peak CPU frequency, and NanoReview’s available benchmark aggregates favor it. The G36 shares the same listed GPU, process, memory ceiling, storage type and wireless standards in the comparison. Neither chipset has a 5G modem listed: the cellular specification is LTE Cat-7.

For a phone purchase, the chipset name alone is not enough to identify the better device. Compare the exact handset’s memory and storage configuration, display, camera implementation, battery, software support, price and availability in your region; those details are determined by the phone model, not by the chip comparison.
