Where to watch HBO Max exclusives
To watch titles available only through the HBO Max streaming library, open the HBO Max app rather than tuning to channel 501. DIRECTV distinguishes its linear HBO channels from exclusive content accessed in the app.

- Check your package or subscription: HBO Max availability depends on your DIRECTV plan. Some packages include it; others may require adding it through your account.
- Check your access type: DIRECTV says its Basic With Ads tier provides exclusive content in the HBO Max app only, so it does not mean the linear HBO channels are included.
- Use the app for app-only titles: A channel listing cannot provide the full streaming library.
Review your account’s package options or DIRECTV’s HBO Max information to see what your subscription includes.
