Haryana has announced an online module across tehsils for correcting routine errors in digital revenue records. The key question is whether the mistake appears only in the online entry or is also present in the underlying manual record: the new module is described for digital discrepancies, while errors in a manual Jamabandi follow the prescribed Fard Badar procedure.
What the Haryana correction module is for
Financial Commissioner Revenue Sumita Misra announced the module on October 3, 2026, according to Hindustan Times. It is intended to make routine corrections more local and reduce referrals to state headquarters. Examples in the announcement include an incorrectly recorded khewat share, a wrong land area, or an omitted khewat or khasra in the online record. These are examples, not a complete list of eligible errors.

The report describes this internal review chain:
- The concerned patwari submits an online correction request.
- The kanungo compares and verifies the request against the manual revenue record.
- The tehsildar gives final approval before the correction is incorporated into the online record.
Misra was quoted as saying: “Common errors in online revenue records will no longer need to be referred to the headquarters and can be resolved at the concerned tehsil itself.”

Compare the online entry with the relevant manual record and, where applicable, the printed mutation. The procedure depends on which record is wrong:

If the records do not match, ask the concerned revenue office which procedure applies to the specific entry. The announcement does not establish how to resolve an individual title dispute.
What citizens can—and cannot—do from the announcement
The report explains the department’s internal review chain, but does not give citizens a complete application guide. It does not state how a citizen initiates a correction request, what documents are required, whether a fee applies, how long correction takes, or how to appeal a refusal or delay. Do not assume that the steps for another Revenue Haryana Portal service apply to this module.

For example, Haryana separately offers applications for digitally certified copies of Jamabandi, Mutation, Fard Badar, and registered sale deeds. The government’s Revenue Haryana Portal workflow described in a July 27, 2026 release uses a registered mobile number and OTP, issues a tracking ID, and makes approved documents available after the prescribed fee is paid. That is a certified-copy service, not the correction module’s application process.
What the “nearly 99%” figure means
Misra said the mechanism was expected to enable nearly 99% of cases involving routine errors in revenue records to be resolved at tehsil level, as reported by Hindustan Times. This is a stated expectation, not evidence that 99% of cases have already been resolved.

A separate Haryana government release reported that pending mutation cases had fallen from nearly five lakh to about 50,000 following digitisation and a clean-up exercise. That June 2026 figure concerns the mutation backlog, not outcomes from the correction module announced in October; see the June 9 release.

The correction module is one part of a broader digital land-record system, but it should not be confused with other services. Haryana’s WEB-HALRIS description lists deed registration, Jamabandi, mutation, and Khasra Girdawari modules and says the system is implemented in 143 tehsils (Department of Information Technology, Electronics & Communication).

A separate June 23, 2026 government release described Auto Mutation and Paperless Registration 2.0, under which citizens would no longer need to apply separately for mutation after property registration (Government of Haryana). Neither that process nor the certified-copy service supplies the missing citizen-facing instructions for this correction module.
