The 2026 Haier quick reference guide gives the rangehood’s dimensions as 898 mm wide × 600 mm deep × 950–1100 mm high. Measure the island and ceiling arrangement, and confirm the mounting position and clearance requirements with a qualified installer before purchase. The 898 mm width is close to 90 cm, but the depth and mounting height also affect how it sits over the cooking area.

Haier specifies a 150 mm air outlet and top extraction. Check that a suitable duct route can be run from the ceiling to the intended exit point; the product dimensions alone do not establish that a particular kitchen can accommodate the ducting.
Ducted extraction or recirculation?
Ducted setup
In a ducted installation, air is drawn through the rangehood and routed out through the top outlet. The 150 mm outlet and ceiling route are important planning details. Haier’s published specifications do not establish the performance of any specific duct layout.

Optional recirculation
Haier also lists top-extraction recirculation as an option. Its Australian product information names carbon filter H0530061771 and recirculation kit H0530062211 as separately sold items. Do not assume the hood is ready for recirculation as supplied: ask Haier or the installer which components the selected configuration requires and confirm their availability before buying.

Haier lists an aluminium filter (H0530061772) and chimney extension (H0530062213) among the included items, alongside light bulb H0530061789. The inclusion list is separate from the manufacturer’s notes that recirculation parts are sold separately.

How loud is the Haier HI90BLX1?
The specifications reviewed do not give a decibel rating, and they do not include an independent noise test. There is not enough evidence to describe the HI90BLX1 as quiet or to predict how loud it will sound in your kitchen. If noise matters, ask Haier for a current sound rating and compare it with other models’ published figures under comparable conditions.
Is the Haier HI90BLX1 worth buying?
The specification-based case is strongest when you need an island hood close to 90 cm wide, can plan for its 150 mm top outlet, and have confirmed whether ducting or separately equipped recirculation suits your kitchen. Its rated airflow, lighting, controls and filter details are clear, but they do not answer how well it captures fumes or how noisy it is in use.

Before deciding, compare the delivered and installed price in your market, the mounting dimensions, the available duct route, any extra recirculation components, noise figures and warranty terms. Haier’s Australian page also shows a 3.2/5 customer rating, but it does not expose a review count or enough context to judge how representative that score is; it is only a limited snapshot, not a firm basis for a verdict.
Installation and safety
A Haier/Fisher & Paykel guide hosted by Manualzz states that the HI90BLX1 weighs 27 kg and warns that it must be secured to a solid wall, stud, beam or truss. Because that guide is third-party-hosted, verify the weight and installation requirements against Haier’s current local guide. The manufacturer guide says installation and mains connection must be carried out by a suitably qualified person under local building and electrical requirements; use a qualified installer rather than treating product specifications as installation instructions.
