GTA+ Subscription Benefits and Platform Restrictions Explained (2026)

GTA+ is a monthly, automatically renewing membership for Grand Theft Auto Online and selected Grand Theft Auto titles. It is tied to the platform and store where you buy it: a subscription purchased for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S or PC does not transfer to another platform. On PC, GTA+ benefits require Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced; the PS4, Xbox One and PC Legacy editions are not eligible.

The membership combines recurring conveniences, a GTA$500,000 deposit at each renewal, rotating event rewards and a changing games library. You keep GTA Online items you claimed before cancelling, but lose ongoing perks, future claims, unclaimed rewards, renewal bonuses and games-library access when the current billing period ends.

What GTA+ is and how access is tied to your purchase

GTA+ is an optional subscription service operated by Rockstar Games. It renews automatically every month and is associated with the platform account and storefront used for the purchase. Rockstar’s GTA+ Subscription Service Terms, updated August 3, 2026, state: “Subscriptions are limited to a specific platform.” That restriction is the central rule behind most access problems.

A membership bought through a PlayStation, Xbox or PC storefront authenticates only on that platform family. Owning the same Rockstar Games account on another device does not move the subscription there. Benefits can also vary by platform, device and region, so an eligible platform is necessary but not always sufficient for every feature.

GTA+ is separate from owning Grand Theft Auto V. Buying a supported game edition does not include the membership, and having GTA+ does not replace the game license required to play. A persistent internet connection, a compatible device and a Rockstar Games account linked to the store account with the active membership may be required.

Which platforms and editions support GTA+?

Backward compatibility does not change the edition rule. If you play a PS4 or Xbox One version on a newer console, it remains the legacy version for GTA+ purposes. You need the supported PS5 or Xbox Series X|S edition, or GTAV Enhanced on PC.

What benefits does a GTA+ membership include?

Rockstar groups benefits into continuing membership advantages and rewards that rotate with GTA Online events. The exact vehicle, clothing item, property, discount or other claimable changes over time, and each claim has a deadline.

These are membership-linked advantages rather than permanent items added to your account. If the subscription is no longer active, the continuing advantages stop at the end of the paid billing period.

Rotating vehicles, clothing, properties and event rewards

GTA+ event periods introduce claimable content such as vehicles, clothing, properties and other GTA Online rewards. Rockstar describes new GTA Online benefit periods as launching every three to six weeks; that is a general cadence, not a promise that every period will last exactly that long or contain the same categories.

Claim windows matter. A reward must be claimed before the applicable event period closes. An item that was available during an earlier period cannot be claimed later merely because you become a member again. Rockstar’s live benefits page is the authoritative place to check the current item list and deadline; an event list that ended on October 7, 2026 should not be treated as current after that date.

GTA+ Games Library

The rotating GTA+ Games Library provides access to selected games while each title remains in the library and while your membership is active. Access is limited to the platform on which the membership is active. Removing a title from the library or ending the membership removes the entitlement, even if the game remains installed.

Benefits for your two GTA Online characters

Rockstar Customer Support says, “GTA+ benefits apply to both Grand Theft Auto Online characters on your chosen, subscribed platform.” Character-wide benefits therefore cover both characters on that platform. Monthly claimable benefits are an exception to the convenience: you must claim them separately for each character if you want both characters to receive them. Maze Bank is shared, so the account-wide bank balance does not need a separate transfer.

When and how the GTA$500,000 bonus arrives

Rockstar says GTA$500,000 is deposited automatically each time the membership renews. The payment is tied to your individual renewal date, not to the start of a GTA Online event or to a calendar month shared by all subscribers. The money is placed in Maze Bank when the recurring charge is processed.

For example, if your membership renews on the 18th, the recurring bonus follows that billing date. A new event beginning on another day does not accelerate or reset the deposit. If you do not see the money, first confirm that the renewal completed, that you are signed into the linked account on the subscribed platform and that you are checking Maze Bank rather than cash on hand.

How to claim rotating benefits before they expire

1. Confirm the active platform and edition. Make sure you are using PS5, Xbox Series X|S or PC with GTAV Enhanced, and that the signed-in account is the one linked to the active membership.
2. Check the current GTA+ benefits page. Note the item, character requirements and the stated end date. Do not rely on an old event announcement or a previously saved list.
3. Open GTA Online on the subscribed platform. Event rewards and membership claimables are delivered through the eligible version, not through an unsupported legacy edition.
4. Claim for each character that should receive the item. Rockstar says monthly claimable benefits must be claimed separately for each character, even though the membership itself covers both.
5. Verify delivery before the event closes. Check the relevant garage, property, wardrobe or account balance while the claim window is still open. Unclaimed rewards are forfeited when the membership ends or the event period expires.

Account, region and console-subscription requirements

• Linked accounts: Your Rockstar Games account must be linked to the platform store account carrying the membership.
• Internet access: A persistent internet connection may be required to authenticate the subscription and deliver online benefits.
• Console service: A separate paid PlayStation or Xbox platform subscription may be required to use online console features. GTA+ does not automatically include that platform service.
• Regional availability: Benefits are not guaranteed in every country. Rockstar specifically notes that GTA+ on GTAV Enhanced for PC may not be available in all regions, and age restrictions can differ.
• Edition matching: On PC, launching Legacy instead of Enhanced prevents GTA+ benefits even when both editions are installed.

Does GTA+ transfer between platforms?

No. The membership stays with the platform and store where it was purchased. Moving from PlayStation to PC, from Xbox to PlayStation, or between console generations does not carry over the subscription entitlement.

What happens if you cancel GTA+?

Cancellation stops automatic renewal; it does not normally terminate access immediately. Rockstar says access continues through the end of the current billing period. During that remaining time, you can use the membership and claim eligible rewards, subject to each event’s deadline.

If you rejoin later, you become eligible for the event active at the time you return. Membership does not restore event rewards that were available during the inactive interval.

Where to manage or cancel the subscription

Management depends on where you purchased GTA+. Rockstar Launcher memberships for GTAV Enhanced on PC are managed in the Rockstar Games Launcher. Other PC storefront purchases and console memberships are managed through the subscription service of the relevant platform. Use that storefront’s subscription-management area to turn off recurring billing and verify the next billing date.

Cancellation is a separate action from a GTA Online suspension or ban. Rockstar says a ban does not automatically cancel GTA+; subscribers must cancel manually. If you are unsure whether recurring billing is off, check the platform account’s subscription status rather than relying on an in-game message.

Common problems and practical fixes

“I paid for GTA+ but see no benefits.”

• Check that you launched the supported edition: PS5, Xbox Series X|S or PC Enhanced.
• Confirm that the store account used for payment is linked to the Rockstar account currently signed in.
• On PC, close Legacy and start Enhanced.
• Verify regional availability and any required console online subscription.
• Restart the game after the purchase so the entitlement can be authenticated.

“My GTA$500,000 has not appeared.”

• Check whether the renewal actually completed rather than being declined or delayed.
• Use the renewal date as the reference point; event start dates are irrelevant to the bonus schedule.
• Look in Maze Bank and confirm you are on the subscribed platform and account.

“I claimed a reward on one character but not the other.”

Monthly claimable benefits are character-specific. Return to the claim flow with the second character before the event deadline. A membership covering both characters does not automatically duplicate every claim.

“I cancelled and lost access to a game in the library.”

Games-library access is an active-membership entitlement. Installed files do not preserve the license after the billing period ends, and a title can also leave the library while your subscription is active.

Bottom line: who should subscribe?

GTA+ is suitable only if you play on the supported platform and edition, want its recurring GTA Online conveniences, and will actively claim rotating rewards before their deadlines. Treat the membership as platform-bound: PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC Enhanced are separate access environments, while PS4, Xbox One and PC Legacy are excluded. The most valuable recurring cash benefit is GTA$500,000 at each successful renewal, but it follows your billing date. Cancelled members keep items they claimed, not the future perks or rewards they left unclaimed.
