No—Rockstar has not announced GTA 7 in the official materials available as of October 7, 2026. The next announced game is Grand Theft Auto VI, scheduled for November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. That confirms what is currently planned; it does not establish whether or when another sequel will be announced.
Has GTA 7 been announced?
No. Rockstar’s official Grand Theft Auto VI page and Take-Two’s published materials do not announce a game called GTA 7 or give it a release date. The accurate conclusion is that GTA 7 is unannounced—not that it will never exist.

What is the next announced Grand Theft Auto game?
Grand Theft Auto VI is the current announced entry. In a June 24, 2026 announcement, Take-Two said pre-orders would begin June 25, 2026, and listed a November 19, 2026 release for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Take-Two’s FY2026 results also list GTA VI for those platforms and that date.

- Grand Theft Auto III: It all starts in Liberty City. With the revolutionary freedom to go anywhere and jack anyone, Grand Theft Auto III puts the center of the criminal underworld at your fingertips, if you have enough guts to take it.
- Grand Theft Auto: Vice City: Welcome to the 1980s. From the decade of big hair and pastel suits comes the story of one man's rise to the top of the criminal pile.
- Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas: Five years ago, Carl 'CJ' Johnson escaped the haze of Los Santos, San Andreas...a city tearing itself apart with gang trouble, drugs, and corruption.
When is GTA 7 coming out?
There is no official GTA 7 release date or window in the materials cited here. Any specific year or launch prediction should be treated as speculation unless Rockstar or Take-Two announces it directly.

No. Rockstar’s official page lists a September 17, 2026 announcement titled “Announcing Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album.” That is GTA VI-related news, not an announcement about GTA 7; the listing does not establish a physical album format. Similarly, GTA VI pre-orders and its scheduled launch provide information about GTA VI, not the next sequel.

How to distinguish confirmation from rumor
- Confirmed: A dated announcement or current game listing published by Rockstar or Take-Two.
- Not confirmation: A predicted release year, platform, setting, or development claim that is not supported by a direct official announcement.
- Keep titles separate: GTA VI’s platforms and November 19, 2026 date are not GTA 7 details.
