Google launched its Halloween 2024 Doodle on October 30, 2024. It was a playable third chapter of Magic Cat Academy, in which Momo the cat flies through Earth’s atmosphere and battles ghosts by drawing symbols. You can try the official experience in Google’s Doodle archive.
What was Google’s Halloween 2024 Doodle?
It was an interactive browser game, not just a Halloween-themed logo. Google’s archive identifies it as the third Magic Cat Academy installment. The story follows Momo, a black cat, on a broomstick flight through the atmosphere, where she faces spectral enemies and her recurring adversary, Marshmallow. The game pairs Halloween creatures with space imagery; contemporary coverage describes Momo wearing an astronaut-style helmet.
Google’s archive records October 30, 2024, as the launch date. Space.com reported that the Doodle appeared on Google’s homepage for about 48 hours; that was the reported homepage window, not a guarantee of how long the archived game would remain accessible.
How to play the archived Doodle
- Open Google’s Halloween 2024 Doodle archive page.
- Press Play and follow the opening animation and tutorial. Skip the introduction only if a skip control appears.
- When an enemy approaches, draw the symbol shown above it. On a computer, use a mouse or equivalent pointer; on a phone, use touch gestures.
- Keep matching the symbols as enemies arrive. Contemporary reports describe dashes, chevrons, swirls and lightning-bolt shapes; the pace and number of enemies increase as the game progresses.
Reaction speed and accurate strokes help, particularly as encounters get busier. Desktop input may feel easier for some players, but that is a practical preference rather than a tested device comparison.

What happens in Magic Cat Academy 3?
Momo and her friends prepare for a flight before Momo takes on ghosts across atmospheric layers. Reported enemies include bats, spiders and red sprites, alongside ghosts and stars. Space.com describes a fifth level that ends with Marshmallow growing into a demonic sun, followed by Momo receiving candy; this ending detail comes from contemporary gameplay coverage, rather than a full walkthrough on Google’s archive page.
How it fits into the Magic Cat Academy series
Google describes the earlier adventures by their settings: school and ocean. The 2024 game moves Momo’s story into the atmosphere.
