Google Tensor G5 powers the Pixel 10 generation, but there is no single definitive “Tensor G5 score.” Published results belong to particular Pixel phones and test setups: current Geekbench Browser listings show Pixel 10 at 1,905 single-core and 5,400 multi-core, while Tom’s Guide reports 2,345 and 6,581 in its own Geekbench 6 testing. Those figures are not contradictory measurements of a chip under identical conditions; they are results from different sources and methodologies.
What is Tensor G5, and which phones use it?
Tensor G5 is Google’s system-on-chip for the Pixel 10 generation. The Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro appear with Tensor G5 in Geekbench Browser’s device listings. The chip is part of the phone, not a user-replaceable upgrade.

Google says Tensor G5 is designed in TSMC’s 3 nm process node. That is Google’s product description, not an independent inspection of the chip’s fabrication. Google also says the chip enables the latest Gemini Nano model and fully on-device generative AI experiences at launch. Google’s Pixel 10 announcement is the source for those statements.

Google’s launch announcement does not provide a complete technical datasheet. It does not establish a full set of core counts, clock frequencies, cache sizes, memory bandwidth, or transistor count, so those details should not be inferred or filled in from unrelated device specifications.

- The upgraded triple rear camera system has a new 5x telephoto lens - up to 20x Super Res Zoom for stunning detail from far away; Night Sight takes crisp, clear photos in low-light settings; and Camera Coach helps you snap your best pics[3]
- Pixel 10 is designed - scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and has an IP68 rating for water and dust protection[21]; plus, the Actua display - 3,000-nit peak brightness is easy on the eyes, even in direct sunlight[4]
Google’s headline performance figures are vendor comparisons: it says Tensor G5 has an “up to 60% more powerful” TPU and an average CPU that is “34% faster.” These are Google’s claims relative to the prior generation, not results from a universal third-party test or a promise that every workload improves by those amounts. The announcement’s broader wording is that the improvements are intended to make Pixel more responsive for everyday use and support newer AI features.
Geekbench Browser characterizes the Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro listings at 2.2 GHz. That is a benchmark-database listing, not a comprehensive silicon specification or proof of every core’s operating frequency. Geekbench’s Android device listings provide the associated device scores and database context.

What Geekbench 6 scores are listed for Pixel 10?
The following Geekbench Browser device-listing scores were reported at access time in 2026. They are database aggregates that can change as submissions are added; they are not fixed certifications or a controlled head-to-head review.
| Phone and chip | Geekbench 6 single-core | Geekbench 6 multi-core |
|---|---|---|
| Pixel 10, Tensor G5 | 1,905 | 5,400 |
| Pixel 10 Pro, Tensor G5 | 1,897 | 5,428 |
| Pixel 9 Pro, Tensor G4 | 1,559 | 3,823 |
The Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro figures are close, and small differences in a changing database should not be treated as meaningful evidence that one phone has a faster chip. The Pixel 9 Pro row gives a same-page reference point, but it does not by itself establish a controlled generational comparison: the listings represent submitted device results, not a single matched test session.

- Plan, create, and get more done with help from Gemini, your built-in AI assistant[3]; have it screen spam calls while you focus[6]; chat with Gemini to brainstorm your meal plan[7], or bring your ideas to life with Nano Banana[8]
Why do other Tensor G5 benchmark results differ?
Tom’s Guide reports its Pixel 10 at 2,345 single-core and 6,581 multi-core in Geekbench 6. Those results are substantially higher than Geekbench Browser’s current device-listing figures above. A reviewer’s device test and a database’s changing device aggregate are different evidence; the score must be read with its source and setup rather than presented as an interchangeable measure of the chip. Tom’s Guide says its Geekbench 6 results improved over Pixel 9 but remained behind the Galaxy S25 and iPhone 16 in that comparison. Tom’s Guide’s Pixel 10 benchmark report identifies its results.
Notebookcheck’s database also contains multiple Tensor G5 test rows across Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL configurations. Taken together, these listings reinforce that benchmark results attach to a phone, test, and configuration—not to a chip isolated from the device that runs it. Notebookcheck’s Pixel 10 database page includes its device-specific results.

How does Tensor G5 perform in graphics tests?
Tom’s Guide reports 80.58 frames per second for Pixel 10 in 3DMark Wildlife Unlimited. That is a result from Tom’s Guide’s test of that phone in that named test, not a universal Tensor G5 frame-rate figure. For a useful GPU comparison, match the exact 3DMark test variant, phone configuration, and performance mode; results from different variants should not be combined.
Android Authority describes a move from Arm Mali graphics in the previous generation to Imagination’s PowerVR architecture, while noting that Google provided little public GPU detail in its announcement. The architecture name alone does not establish gaming performance. Android Authority’s Tensor G5 analysis discusses the GPU change and the limits of available detail.

What do Tensor G5 AI performance claims mean?
Google’s “up to 60% more powerful” TPU statement is a vendor comparison, not an AI benchmark score that can be directly compared with a third-party test. Mobile AI results depend on the model being run, the backend, precision, and whether the software uses Android NNAPI consistently. If a result does not disclose those details, it may not measure the same workload as another result—or Google’s TPU claim.
Google says Tensor G5 supports the latest Gemini Nano model and on-device generative AI experiences at launch. That describes Google’s intended product capability; it does not establish that every AI task runs locally or that every application has the same performance.
Quick Recap
How to compare Tensor G5 with another phone chip
- CPU: Compare single-core with single-core and multi-core with multi-core, using the same Geekbench version and, where possible, the same reviewer or database method.
- GPU: Use the exact test name and variant, and account for phone configuration and performance mode. A frame rate from one 3DMark test is not interchangeable with another.
- AI: Look for the model, backend, precision, and workload. A manufacturer’s TPU claim and a third-party NNAPI result answer different questions.
- Sustained performance: Treat thermal or long-duration comparisons as meaningful only when the source reports a repeatable protocol. The cited results do not establish one sustained-performance figure that can be generalized across Tensor G5 phones.
