Tech Advisor reviewer Chris Martin tested it for weeks and found it smooth, attractive and quick to charge; his reported battery life was about 48 hours with typical use. That is his experience, not a guaranteed result. Whether the Watch 5 is worth buying comes down chiefly to its current price against the older model.
What changed—and what did not
Google’s US specifications list two sizes, 41mm and 45mm, with Wear OS 7.0, the Snapdragon W5 Gen 2 Accelerated platform and 64GB of storage. Martin describes the design as unchanged from the Pixel Watch 4 and the hardware upgrades as limited, though he notes increased memory and storage to 3GB and 64GB. His review praises the styling, bright domed screen and smooth everyday performance, but these are impressions from his use rather than independent benchmark results. The display is an Actua 360 AMOLED LTPO panel with up to 3,000 nits peak brightness and a 1–60Hz refresh rate, protected by Gorilla Glass 5. Google lists Bluetooth 6.0, Wi-Fi, NFC, Ultra-Wideband, dual-frequency GPS and LTE/UMTS in LTE configurations. It also lists IP68 and 5 ATM water resistance. (Google specifications)
Battery life: use the estimate for your size and mode
Google’s figures are manufacturer estimates, not a promise that every owner will see the same runtime. The 45mm model’s “up to 40 hours” applies with always-on display; Battery Saver estimates differ substantially by size.

| Size | Battery capacity | Always-on display estimate | Battery Saver estimate | Full-charge estimate |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 41mm | 332mAh | Up to 30 hours | Up to 48 hours | About 45 minutes |
| 45mm | 465mAh | Up to 40 hours | Up to 72 hours | About 60 minutes |
Google estimates about 15 minutes to reach 50% charge for either size. Actual battery and charging results vary with settings and use. Separately, Martin reports around 48 hours with typical use in his review; that anecdotal result should not be treated as a controlled test or a forecast for all users. The Quick Charge Dock is included in the box, according to Google. (Google specifications; Tech Advisor, September 30, 2026)
Price and configurations
Prices depend on size, connectivity and market. Google’s US configurator listed these Bluetooth/Wi-Fi options when checked October 3, 2026:

| US configuration | Listed price |
|---|---|
| 41mm Bluetooth/Wi-Fi | $399.99 |
| 45mm Bluetooth/Wi-Fi | $429.99 |
| 45mm Stephen Curry edition | $579.99 |
Those are volatile US configurator prices, not universal or permanent prices; LTE costs more, with the total depending on size. Martin’s review quotes a $399/£369 starting price and $529/£499 for a 45mm LTE configuration. Those figures reflect the review’s market and pricing context, so check the current local listing before comparing. Google’s US pages also describe two years of Google Fi Wireless data with an LTE watch purchase; carrier eligibility, availability and offer terms should be verified locally. Health features, phone compatibility and LTE
Google says the watch works with most Android phones running Android 12.0 or newer. LTE functionality requires a compatible carrier. The listed sensors include heart-rate monitoring, ECG-compatible electrical sensors, oxygen-saturation sensors, skin-temperature sensing, accelerometer, gyroscope, compass, altimeter and barometer. (Google specifications)
Rank #3
- The Google Pixel Watch 3 is designed for performance, with advanced fitness from Fitbit[1,2]; the 45mm screen is twice as bright and 40% larger than before, making it easier to see your stats and info[1]
- Maximize your performance with advanced running features; build custom run workouts and get real-time guidance and advanced form tracking[3]
- Enhance your run routine with Fitbit Premium; Google AI uses your goals, past runs, and readiness to power personalized run recommendations[3]
- Know what your body is ready for each day with readiness; it uses sleep, resting heart rate, and heart rate variability to show if you’re ready to take on a workout or prioritize recovery[3]
- Cardio load measures how hard your heart works so you can see how hard you’ve pushed; compare trends to see if you’re under- or over-training[3]
Google promotes Google Health and Gemini-based coaching, alongside health-trend functions such as blood-pressure and insulin-resistance trends. Availability and rollout can change. Martin’s September 30, 2026 review says some health features were not available at launch and were beginning to roll out at the time; do not assume every feature is available on every device, account or in every region. He also found the Gemini raise-to-wake interaction unreliable in his use and says some features were restricted to Pixel 11 phones. (Google US product page; Tech Advisor, September 30, 2026)

The practical choice is not simply new versus old: compare what each costs where you live with the features and fit you will actually use. Martin’s verdict is that the Watch 4 may be the better value when it is substantially cheaper, including during sales. That is a conditional recommendation, not a claim that the older model is always discounted or that every buyer should choose it.

- Compare local prices: check the same size and Bluetooth/Wi-Fi or LTE configuration, including any current discount.
- Match features to your phone: identify whether the software and health features you want are available to your phone, account and region.
- Choose a size you can wear: compare 41mm and 45mm fit, not just their battery estimates.
- Check LTE before paying extra: confirm carrier compatibility and local service terms.
- Factor in the look: color and band preference may matter if you prefer the Watch 5 despite similar design.
Martin’s review also praises charging speed but criticizes the included band’s comfort for his use. Google lists included band sizes in its product specifications, so check fit before considering a replacement; the available information does not establish that an extra charging dock is necessary. (Tech Advisor, September 30, 2026; Google specifications)
Verdict
The Pixel Watch 5 looks capable and appealing, with strong on-paper display and connectivity specifications and a broad range of health sensors. Its main weakness as a purchase is the small generational step: if a Pixel Watch 4 is meaningfully cheaper and meets your needs, Martin’s review gives little reason to pay more for the newer watch. The Watch 5 makes more sense when its particular size, color, software changes or current price are a better match for you.
