What the images reveal about the design
The most noticeable change is the flatter rear-camera treatment. Google describes the Pixel 9a as having a nearly flat back; 9to5Google’s hands-on coverage describes a pill-shaped lens cover. That differs from the prominent camera bar associated with recent Pixel A-series phones. Google’s design images also show the four launch-announced colors: Obsidian, Porcelain, Peony, and Iris.

Google’s product announcement specifies a 6.3-inch Actua display, a 48MP main rear camera, and a 13MP ultrawide rear camera. Those are manufacturer-provided specifications, not conclusions drawn from the photo galleries.
How to read the camera samples
Android Authority’s gallery is useful for browsing different camera and shooting categories, including the ultrawide, macro, panorama, and zoom examples. Its images are presented as Pixel 9a photos, but the gallery is not a controlled comparison with another phone. Lighting, subject, framing, and processing can affect what any individual sample looks like, so the images should not be treated as a standardized camera-quality test.

Keep the distinction clear when browsing: official and hands-on galleries depict the device; the sample gallery depicts scenes photographed with it. Google’s design and camera-quality descriptions are manufacturer statements, while editorial hands-on photos and samples have their own publication context and authorship.
