There is no universal winner: choose based on the exact generation and your priorities. This comparison focuses on the 2026 Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold and the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold models documented here: the 2026-reported Z Fold 8 Ultra and the officially documented Z Fold7. They are not interchangeable generations, and the available official Samsung material covers Z Fold7 rather than the newer Ultra. Check local model pages, availability and prices before buying.
Pixel Fold vs. Galaxy Z Fold: which model should you buy?
Start with how you will use the phone folded and open, then weigh cameras, performance, battery, support and the price in your country. A larger-screen foldable asks you to trade some conventional-phone convenience for an inner display; the right choice depends on whether that trade serves your daily tasks.

- Prioritize the folded experience: compare cover-screen width, aspect ratio, thickness, weight and hinge feel in person if possible. Diagonal screen size alone does not tell you how comfortable typing or one-handed use will be.
- Prioritize work on the inner display: check the exact model’s multitasking tools and how many apps it supports at once. Prior-generation results are not a guarantee for current software.
- Prioritize photos or games: compare independent results for the models you are considering, not megapixel counts or older-generation reviews.
- Prioritize value: compare current local street prices for the same storage tier, plus trade-ins, financing and warranty terms. A historical US MSRP is not a current quote.
What is established about the displays?
Google’s specifications list a 6.5-inch outer display for the Pixel 11 Pro Fold. Android Central reports that both the Pixel 11 Pro Fold and Z Fold 8 Ultra have 6.5-inch outer and 8-inch inner 120Hz OLED panels. Samsung’s official US comparison lists a 6.5-inch cover screen and 8.0-inch main screen for the Z Fold7. These are nominal diagonal measurements, not proof that the screens feel or behave alike. Aspect ratio and folded shape can matter more for cover-screen typing and reading.

How do cameras and performance compare?
There is not enough comparable evidence here to declare a camera or speed winner for the Pixel 11 Pro Fold versus Z Fold 8 Ultra. Camera results depend on the specific lenses and image processing, while sustained performance can differ from brief benchmark bursts.
For context only, Tom’s Guide’s 2025 comparison of the Pixel 10 Pro Fold and Galaxy Z Fold7 found Samsung ahead in its benchmark tests and favored the Pixel in its zoom and low-light examples. Those findings concern older models and do not establish the outcome for the 2026 devices. Read testing for the exact models you plan to buy, especially if gaming, zoom photography or low-light shots are priorities. Tom’s Guide’s 2025 comparison.
What do battery tests tell you?
Battery figures are useful only with their model and test method attached. Tom’s Guide reported 12 hours 19 minutes in its 2026 5G web-surfing test of a Galaxy Z Fold 8 review unit. That is one publication’s result under its test conditions, not a promise of everyday runtime. Its 2025 cellular web-surfing comparison measured 12 hours 16 minutes for the Pixel 10 Pro Fold and 10 hours 44 minutes for the Z Fold7—prior-generation results, not evidence for the Pixel 11 Pro Fold or Z Fold 8 Ultra.

These tests are not a direct comparison across the same review and year, so do not use them to rank the latest models. Look for a same-outlet, same-method comparison of the exact phones, and consider charging speed and your usage alongside runtime. How should you interpret durability ratings?
Android Central reports IP68 for the Pixel 11 Pro Fold and IP48 for the Z Fold 8 Ultra. Treat this as that publication’s reported specification comparison and verify the manufacturer’s documentation for the precise model and country. An ingress-protection rating describes specified resistance to dust or water under test conditions; it is not a guarantee against all liquid, dust, impact or display damage, nor does it establish repair cost or warranty coverage.
Android Central’s 2026 comparison
What about software, multitasking and updates?
Check the manufacturer’s current support terms for the exact device, region and software version. Tom’s Guide’s 2025 comparison said the Pixel 10 Pro Fold and Z Fold7 each had seven years of software and security updates at the time, and that Samsung supported three simultaneous apps on the main screen versus two on Pixel. These are previous-generation findings; do not assume the same update commitments or multitasking behavior apply to the Pixel 11 Pro Fold or Z Fold 8 Ultra.
Before choosing, verify the features you actually need: simultaneous app layout, stylus support if relevant, AI tools, and any country or account limitations. The available material does not establish their current-model availability across regions.

Quick Recap
Make the decision on the exact models available to you
- Confirm the model name and generation. The official Google specifications identify the Pixel 11 Pro Fold as a 2026 model. Samsung’s official comparison and price sheet cover Z Fold7; the cited report on Z Fold 8 Ultra is secondary reporting, not the official Samsung comparison page. Start with the manufacturers’ local pages: Google specifications and Samsung Z Fold7 comparison.
- Try the folded form. If you rely on one-handed typing or frequent quick replies, judge the cover screen’s shape and reach rather than its diagonal alone.
- Test your inner-screen workflow. Open the apps you use together and see whether the layouts and controls suit you; do not rely on older-model app-count comparisons.
- Compare evidence for your priorities. Seek same-generation camera samples, sustained-performance results and battery tests with stated methods. Treat a single review unit’s result as a test result, not a guarantee.
- Compare total ownership cost locally. Use the actual storage tier and current offer, and check support, repair and warranty terms for your country before paying.
