The Pixel 11 Pro Fold is Google’s most refined foldable so far, with a thinner, lighter design, an 8-inch inner screen, Tensor G6 and faster wireless charging. But “best” depends on what matters most: TechRadar found it more comfortable to hold than its predecessor, yet still heavier than the Samsung foldables it compared, and flagged weaknesses in some ultrawide photos. It looks strongest for buyers who value a large screen and Google’s software features over minimum weight or consistently strong camera results.
What’s new in the Pixel 11 Pro Fold?
Google announced the Pixel 11 Pro Fold on August 12, 2026, with preorders opening that day and store availability beginning August 20. The company describes it as thinner and lighter than the previous generation, with a new main camera, added durability inside and out, and a camera visor featuring HiLight. Google says it is almost 10% lighter and about 1 mm thinner than the Pixel 10 Pro Fold; those are manufacturer comparisons, not independent measurements.

Google’s announcement calls it “our most sophisticated foldable yet.” That is the company’s positioning, rather than an independent verdict that it is better than every competing foldable. Google’s launch announcement
How do the two screens work?
The outer screen is a 6.5-inch Super Actua OLED display, while the inner folding screen measures 8 inches. Both support a 1–120 Hz refresh rate, according to Google. The cover screen is sized for ordinary phone tasks; opening the device provides a larger canvas for reading, viewing content and using apps side by side.
#1 Best Overall
- Designed for Gemini Intelligence, brighter screens, and a more durable design, the new Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold delivers eye-opening performance and makes multitasking effortless[1,2,3]
- Unlocked Android phone gives you the flexibility to change carriers and choose your own data plan: Works with Google Fi, Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T, and other major carriers[4]
- As stunning as it is strong: Pixel 11 Pro Fold’s ultra-durable composite back is lighter, stronger, and designed to be nearly impossible to crack[5,6]; and with scratch-resistant glass and an all-new hinge, it’s 3x stronger[5]
- Unfold the fun: Drift away into immersive entertainment on the brighter-than-ever 8-inch screen[2]; take it into tabletop mode for hands-free streaming of your favorite content
- Stay informed without looking at your screen: When your phone is face down, Pixel HiLight gently alerts you with subtle glowing lights when your favorite contacts are calling or you’re talking with Gemini; exclusive to Google Pixel 11 Pro phones
Google lists the outer panel at 1080 × 2342 resolution and 399 pixels per inch, and the inner panel at 2076 × 2152 and 372 pixels per inch. Those figures describe the panels; they do not by themselves establish how well individual apps adapt to the foldable layout. Google Store specifications
Is it easier to carry than the previous Fold?
Google lists the phone at 8.4 ounces, with folded dimensions of 6.1 × 3.0 × 0.4 inches and unfolded dimensions of 6.1 × 5.9 × 0.2 inches. TechRadar reports a weight of 239 g, approximately 8.4 ounces, and says the reduction makes the phone more comfortable to hold than the preceding model. The reviewer still found it heavier than the Samsung Fold 8 and Fold 8 Ultra models in that comparison. For people who carry a large phone all day, the reduction is welcome, but it does not make the Pixel the lightest option in that review’s comparison.

How good are the cameras?
TechRadar describes the camera system as capable for casual photography, awarding it 3.5/5. The reviewer liked macro and low-light results overall and found 4K video good, but said some photos—especially ultrawide shots—looked grainy or flat. The review also notes that users may want more megapixels. These are one reviewer’s hands-on impressions, not a controlled comparison covering every scene or user.
Google highlights a new main camera and a feature called Magic Capture, which uses video capture to help users avoid missing a preferred shot. The available review does not establish that the camera outperforms other flagship phones overall, so photography-focused buyers should weigh the ultrawide caveat alongside the positive observations. What are battery life and charging like?
Google claims more than 24 hours of battery life. It also says 30 W wired charging can reach 50% in about 30 minutes, and that Qi2.2 wireless charging supports up to 25 W. Google calls the wireless charging 20% faster than the previous Fold. These are manufacturer-stated figures; the available sources do not provide an independent, controlled battery endurance result.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Does Tensor G6 make it faster?
Google lists its custom Tensor G6 chip and 16 GB of RAM, and says the phone is designed for Gemini Intelligence. Those specifications and features establish what the device includes, but the launch material does not provide benchmark results that would prove a performance advantage over rivals. Google’s description of “smooth, speedy performance” is promotional rather than a measured comparison.
Google also describes dual-screen real-time translation and a sign-to-text experience developed with the Deaf community. In the announced example, a person signs American Sign Language toward the front camera using Live Transcribe and Gboard, and translations appear on the outer screen. Availability of the feature and supported languages may vary by market; confirm local support before buying for this use.

There is no universal winner established by the available comparison. The Pixel’s case rests on its large inner display, Google’s software and Gemini features, and refinements to the design and charging. The trade-offs shown in the independent review are its weight relative to the cited Samsung alternatives and uneven ultrawide photo results.
- Consider it if you want a large folding display and value Google’s software features more than having the lightest foldable.
- Compare Samsung alternatives if weight is a priority; TechRadar found the cited Fold 8 and Fold 8 Ultra lighter.
- Look closely at camera samples and alternatives if ultrawide photography is important, given TechRadar’s comments about grain and flat-looking results.
- Check the current local price and configuration before deciding. Google’s launch announcement and Store page establish availability and specifications, but prices and offers can change by country, storage tier and date.
Google mentions a Pixel 11 Pro Fold case with an integrated hinge cover. Check that an accessory listing is explicitly compatible with this model before purchasing; the existence of a case is not evidence of long-term hinge durability. Google’s launch announcement
