At the US listed prices in the manufacturer pages accessed October 7, 2026, the Pixel 10 starts at $799, while Samsung lists the unlocked Galaxy Z Fold8 with 256GB at $1,899.99—a difference of $1,100.99. That is a starting-price-to-256GB comparison, not a like-for-like storage match or a guarantee of today’s checkout price. The choice is also about form: the Pixel is a conventional 6.3-inch phone; the Fold8 is a foldable designed to open into a larger viewing and work area.
Pixel 10 vs Galaxy Z Fold8: price difference
Google’s US specifications page lists the Pixel 10 “From $799.” Samsung’s US unlocked buying page lists the Galaxy Z Fold8 at $1,899.99 for 256GB, $2,099.99 for 512GB and $2,499.99 for 1TB. The $1,100.99 gap is calculated by subtracting the Pixel’s $799 starting price from the Fold8’s $1,899.99 256GB listed price. These manufacturer-page prices were accessed October 7, 2026; they are a dated snapshot, and promotions, trade-in credits, carrier offers and inventory may change what a buyer pays. The manufacturer specifications establish a clearer comparison for hardware than for real-world results. The Fold8 product page identifies its processor, battery, camera arrangement and storage choices, but its callouts mix details across foldable devices. For that reason, this table omits Fold8 display dimensions, thickness and weight rather than risk assigning figures from another model.

What matters most when choosing
Choose by form factor first
The Pixel 10 follows a familiar single-screen phone design. Samsung’s Fold8 is a foldable intended to provide a larger area when opened. That difference can matter more day to day than a processor name or a camera megapixel count: decide whether you want a conventional phone or specifically value a screen that opens into a larger viewing and work space. The cited product pages describe the design, but do not establish independent productivity or durability results.

Compare camera systems, not just megapixels
Google lists three rear cameras on the Pixel 10, including a dedicated 10.8MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom. Samsung lists dual 50MP cameras for the Fold8. Those specifications describe hardware, not which phone takes better pictures. Megapixel counts alone cannot settle image quality, and the cited material contains no comparable camera test.
Match storage to the price you are comparing
The Pixel configurations listed by Google are 128GB and 256GB; Samsung lists the Fold8 in 256GB, 512GB and 1TB versions. The $1,100.99 difference uses the Pixel’s “From” price and the Fold8’s 256GB price. It should not be presented as a storage-matched comparison, because Google’s starting-price figure does not identify which storage configuration it represents.

Read battery figures in context
Google lists a typical capacity of 4,970mAh for the Pixel 10, while Samsung lists 4,800mAh for the Fold8. Samsung also claims up to 26 hours of video playback for the Fold8. That duration is a manufacturer claim, not an independent measurement, and battery capacity alone does not establish which phone lasts longer in everyday use. Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is the Galaxy Z Fold8 worth the extra $1,100?
It depends on whether the Fold8’s foldable form is worth paying substantially more for to you. Based on the listed US prices accessed October 7, 2026, the Pixel 10 is the lower-priced option, while the Fold8 costs $1,100.99 more at its 256GB unlocked configuration than Google’s Pixel starting price. Consider the Fold8 if its opening, larger viewing and work area is a priority; consider the Pixel if you want a conventional phone and prefer the lower listed entry price.

The available manufacturer specifications do not support a dependable ranking for real-world speed, photo quality, battery life, software experience, long-term support, repairability or fold durability. Do not treat the processor names, battery capacities or camera counts as proof that one is better on those measures.
