Choose the Pixel 10 Pro if you want Google’s compact Pro model and its stated seven years of OS, security, and Pixel Drop updates. Choose a Galaxy S26 if you want more size tiers to choose from, or the S26 Ultra’s broader listed rear-camera hardware and S Pen. For the closest size match, compare the 6.3-inch Pixel 10 Pro with the 6.3-inch Galaxy S26; neither manufacturer’s specifications establish which phone takes better photos, lasts longer in real use, or performs faster.
Which models are the closest match?
The Pixel 10 Pro and base Galaxy S26 are the most direct starting point for buyers seeking a smaller flagship: both are listed with 6.3-inch displays. Google also sells the larger Pixel 10 Pro XL, while Samsung’s S26 family has a base model, an S26+, and an S26 Ultra. The larger phones are not automatic equivalents: their dimensions, weights, resolutions, cameras, and feature tiers differ.

For a smaller flagship
Start with the Pixel 10 Pro and Galaxy S26. Both have a nominal 6.3-inch display, but diagonal alone does not tell you which feels narrower or easier to hold. Google lists the Pixel’s weight as 7.3 oz; the cited Samsung announcement does not state Galaxy S26 weight, so these sources do not support a weight comparison.

- Google Pixel 10 Pro is the ultimate Pixel experience, featuring advanced AI with Gemini, unbelievable camera quality, impeccable design in two sizes, and the next-gen Google Tensor G5 chip[1]

For a larger screen
The Pixel 10 Pro XL has a 6.8-inch display; the Galaxy S26+ is 6.7 inches, and the Ultra is 6.9 inches. The S26+ and Ultra list QHD+ resolution, while Google gives the XL’s pixel dimensions. Compare the phones in person if one-handed use or pocket fit matters: screen size is not a substitute for comparing the device’s full dimensions and weight.
How do their camera systems differ?
The Galaxy S26 and S26+ list a dedicated 3x telephoto alongside main and ultrawide cameras. The S26 Ultra adds a listed 5x telephoto and higher-resolution main and ultrawide sensors, as well as the S Pen. That makes the Ultra the clearest choice on paper if you specifically want Samsung’s most extensive listed rear-camera hardware or stylus support.
Camera specifications do not establish image quality. The available manufacturer information does not provide a controlled comparison of Pixel and Galaxy photos, so megapixel counts and lens lists cannot settle which produces better portraits, night shots, video, or moving-subject photos. Check the Pixel 10 Pro specifications for Google’s exact camera features, then seek side-by-side examples that match the kinds of shots you take.

What update support does each manufacturer promise?
Google says the Pixel 10 Pro receives “7 years of OS, security, and Pixel Drop updates.” Samsung says the Galaxy S26 family receives “seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates from the global launch date.” These are similar stated durations, but the promises differ in scope and wording: Samsung specifies OS generations and starts its support clock at the global launch; Google includes Pixel Drops in its wording. They should not be treated as identical guarantees. See Google’s specifications and Samsung’s announcement.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What should you know about charging?
Google’s stated wired charging rates depend on separately sold USB-C PPS adapters: 30W or higher for the Pixel 10 Pro’s listed charging result and 45W or higher for the Pro XL’s. Samsung also says adapters are sold separately; its cited figures vary by model, and the S26 Ultra figures above come from Samsung’s UK guide. Check the adapter’s protocol and output, and confirm compatibility with the phone and your regional model before buying. Wireless charging rates also differ by model, so compare the specific phone rather than assuming the family shares one rate.
How should you think about software, ecosystem, and value?
This comparison supports concrete differences in model choice and stated support, but it does not establish a complete Pixel-versus-One UI experience comparison or feature availability by country and language. If a specific app, AI feature, accessory, or service matters to you, confirm it is available in your region and works with the exact phone you plan to buy.
Current prices, discounts, carrier offers, and trade-in values are not established consistently here. Compare the exact storage configuration and out-the-door price in your market; do not assume the Pixel 10 Pro XL and Galaxy S26 Ultra are price or feature equivalents simply because both have large displays.

Samsung describes IP68 testing as submersion in up to 1.5 metres of freshwater for up to 30 minutes, and cautions that resistance can diminish with wear. That laboratory description is not a promise that pool or seawater use is safe. The cited information does not establish a comparable Pixel water-resistance claim.
