Yes. Google Home now lets Nest Doorbell owners listen to standard and seasonal doorbell themes before applying one. In the app, open the doorbell camera settings and select Doorbell theme; a play control appears beside available options so you can hear a sound without changing the setting or ringing the physical doorbell.

The route and preview controls were reported in the September 30, 2026 coverage of the feature. The exact rollout by app version, doorbell model and region has not been published in the sources cited here, so menus or availability may differ. If you do not see the option, check the camera settings again later and make sure the Google Home app is current.
What changed—and what did not
This is an in-app way to hear standard and festive Nest Doorbell themes before selecting one. It is not a new ringtone catalog or a new doorbell model. You do not need a Nest Hub: that optional display can show a connected doorbell’s visitor, but it is not part of the preview process. 9to5Google reported the visible controls, while TechRadar also described the rollout.

Standard and seasonal themes have different availability

Google’s help page explains that an enabled seasonal theme plays for visitors and the doorbell returns automatically to its default tone after the holiday. A seasonal choice that is not currently listed—such as a Halloween sound before it becomes available—does not by itself mean the doorbell is faulty. Google’s exact schedule for each theme, region and year is not established here. Google Home Help covers the seasonal setting behavior.
Oktoberfest was a dated example, not a standing schedule
In its September 30, 2026 report, 9to5Google said Oktoberfest was available at that time and would end its annual run on October 9. That date describes the 2026 availability reported then; it should not be treated as a recurring end date for every theme or region. The report said Halloween tones would need to wait until they became available.

Why the previews matter
A preview makes it easier to compare the familiar everyday sound with a temporary festive one before committing to a choice. Google Nest Audio UX Designer Benjamin Decker explained in 2022 that ringtone designs follow a rule of no more than 10 seconds, so visitors are not left waiting at the door. That is a design rule he described, not a measurement of every current theme. Google’s explanation of Nest Doorbell ringtone design gives more context.
Google has previously showcased seasonal examples such as “The Twelve Days of Christmas,” “The Dreidel Song” and “Auld Lang Syne.” Those are examples from Google’s holiday material, not confirmation that each is in the 2026 catalog.
