When Notion is the better travel planner
Choose Notion if you want a trip workspace you can reuse and expand: destination notes, daily plans, reservations, packing, and other trip records can live in connected lists and appear in different views. Its official Marketplace has a travel-planner category and a separate category for free travel-planner templates. Browse Notion travel-planner templates or browse free travel-planner templates.
Template contents and layouts vary by creator. Read the listing to confirm what is included and how the workspace is meant to be used. A database-based setup can be useful for organizing related information, but it may involve more initial configuration than a simple itinerary document.

Do not assume a Notion travel template will behave offline like a Google Doc. Offline availability can depend on your setup, device, and previously available content; verify the specific pages and information you need before relying on them during a trip.

- Trip overview: Destination, dates, travelers, and emergency contact details.
- Transport and lodging: Confirmation references, arrival and departure times, addresses, and links to booking records.
- Daily itinerary: Date, time window, activity, location, reservation status, and a map or ticket link.
- Flexible notes: Alternatives, opening-hour checks, accessibility needs, and weather-dependent plans.
- Optional budget and packing lists: Add them if useful, and assign responsibility when traveling as a group.
Avoid putting full payment-card details in a shared itinerary. Link to the appropriate booking record instead.
Set up an itinerary for offline access
- On a computer, follow Google’s instructions for using Docs offline to enable offline access.
- Open or make the specific itinerary available before leaving, rather than relying on a link you have not checked.
- Disconnect from the internet and test that you can open and edit the document you need.
- Check linked material separately. The offline document does not guarantee that every map, image, ticket, or booking page will load.
