Yes—Google Antigravity is a real Google developer product. The Windows download is an official agentic-development application, not a Google Search Easter egg or desktop customization tool. The important catch is that Google now presents two separate applications: Antigravity 2.0, a standalone agent command center, and Antigravity IDE, the editor-focused environment. Their icons look similar, but the background helps distinguish them.
Download the current installer only from Google’s official download page, then choose Windows x64 or ARM64 after checking your PC’s processor architecture.
What is Google Antigravity?
Google describes Antigravity as an agentic development platform for developers. Its product family includes a standalone desktop application, an IDE, a command-line interface and an SDK. The official home page is antigravity.google; Google also outlines the platform at its product page and in the Google Developers announcement.
It is not the historic “Google Gravity” search trick, and it is not a general-purpose Windows utility. Antigravity is aimed at software development: agents work with projects and repositories, generate artifacts, and can run tasks in parallel. Those are Google’s stated capabilities, not an independent performance guarantee.

Google Antigravity desktop logo explained
The symbol alone does not tell you which application is installed. Google says the two products use different treatments so they can be identified in a dock, Start menu or application launcher.

Google documents this distinction in its Antigravity 2.0 announcement. If you publish a visual comparison, use an original or properly licensed screenshot rather than copying Google’s artwork without checking its usage terms.
Antigravity 2.0 versus Antigravity IDE
These applications can coexist, but they answer different needs.

Google says the IDE’s Agent Manager is expected to be removed as the products become more distinct; that does not mean the IDE itself has disappeared. The separate IDE product page is antigravity.google/product/antigravity-ide.
Windows requirements and the correct installer
- Minimum desktop requirement: Windows 10, 64-bit.
- Windows x64: For most Intel- and AMD-based PCs.
- Windows ARM64: For Windows-on-ARM computers, such as Snapdragon systems.
Do not select ARM64 just because a laptop is new. Check Windows first:
- Open Settings.
- Choose System, then About.
- Under device specifications, find System type.
- Match the result to the x64 or ARM64 option on the download page.
The wording can vary slightly between Windows releases. If Windows reports an ARM-based processor, use ARM64; otherwise, an Intel or AMD 64-bit system normally uses x64.

Google’s documentation does not establish a system-wide enterprise installer. A discussion on the Google AI Developers Forum reports per-user installation concerns, so corporate users should involve IT rather than assume machine-wide deployment is supported.
How to download Google Antigravity for Windows
- Open https://antigravity.google/download.
- In the Windows section, select Download for x64 or Download for ARM64.
- Run the downloaded
.exeinstaller. - Complete the setup prompts and launch Antigravity.
Use Google’s page instead of a third-party mirror. Release builds can change, and the official releases page is the right place for archived versions. Do not rely on a fixed “latest version” number from an older article.

Google’s documented setup flow can include the following:
- Authenticate with a Google account when prompted.
- Read the security and data-use information.
- Choose a theme.
- Select optional integrations or plugins, if offered.
- Open the application and create or add a Project.
AI features may require sign-in. Available integrations, models and quotas can vary by account and plan.
Create a safe first Project
Projects define the folders and repositories that agents can access. In Antigravity:
- Open the application.
- Click the folder-with-
+control in the left sidebar. - Choose New Project.
- Add the local folders or Git repositories the agent should use.
- Confirm the boundary before asking for file changes.
- Work from a version-controlled repository and create a clean branch.
- Add only directories needed for the task.
- Keep credentials, private keys, personal documents and unrelated repositories outside the Project.
- Review diffs and run tests yourself; an artifact or generated test is not proof that an implementation is correct.

If the installer offers “Keep Both” or “Replace”
Google’s documentation says an installation prompt may offer Keep Both or Replace. Its documented path is to choose Replace, after which you may be prompted to reinstall the IDE.
Before replacing an existing installation, back up important projects, settings, extensions and local configuration. “Replace” does not prove that every chat, artifact or preference will migrate automatically. After setup, check the Start menu and the IDE product page to verify that the editor you need is installed separately.
When the new app is not an editor
If the white-background application opens an agent-management surface rather than a familiar editor, you probably installed Antigravity 2.0. Download Antigravity IDE from the official IDE page. The two applications may be installed together; the icon backgrounds help you tell them apart.

These commands download and execute a remote script. Use them only after confirming the address is antigravity.google. Security-conscious users can download and inspect the script first. Corporate execution policies, endpoint protection, network filtering or user permissions may block the CLI; do not disable those controls merely to force installation.

Is Google Antigravity free?
Google’s current pricing page lists an Individual plan at $0 per month. It describes access to listed agent models, unlimited tab completions, unlimited command requests and basic weekly rate limits. That is not unlimited high-volume agent use. Paid Google AI plans offer more generous limits and flexible AI-credit pools, but prices, models and quotas are volatile; check the live pricing page before subscribing. Google has also published plan changes at its plan-change announcement.

Common Windows problems
Wrong architecture
If Windows reports an incompatible application, repeat Settings → System → About → System type and download the matching installer.
Unexpected interface
If you expected an editor but see agent orchestration, install Antigravity IDE separately and verify both icons.
CLI blocked
Check PowerShell policy, endpoint protection, network filtering and user permissions. Ask IT for an approved deployment path instead of bypassing security.
Rate limit reached
The free Individual tier has basic weekly limits. Wait for the allowance to reset or review the current paid-plan terms.
Agent edits the wrong files
Stop the task, inspect the Git diff, revert unwanted changes, narrow the Project folders and continue on a clean branch.
The Bottom Line
Google Antigravity is genuine and available on Windows, but “Antigravity” now refers to two different applications. Choose the x64 or ARM64 installer from Google’s official download page, use the white-background app for Antigravity 2.0’s agent command center, and install the black-grid Antigravity IDE separately when you need a full editor.
