Gmail Subscriptions: How to Unsubscribe From Multiple Senders

Gmail’s Manage subscriptions page groups active subscriptions so you can unsubscribe from each unwanted sender, though there is no documented one-click unsubscribe for all senders.

Gmail lets you review active email subscriptions in one place and unsubscribe sender by sender. It does not document a single control that removes you from every sender at once. On a computer, open More in Gmail’s left navigation and choose Manage subscriptions; in the Android app, open Menu and tap Manage subscriptions. Select Unsubscribe beside each sender you want to leave.

Unsubscribe from multiple senders in Gmail

Use Gmail’s Manage subscriptions page to find active subscriptions without opening each newsletter individually. Google says unsubscribing there removes you from all active mailing lists associated with the selected sender.

On a computer

  1. Open Gmail.
  2. In the left navigation, click More.
  3. Click Manage subscriptions.
  4. Review the senders shown and click Unsubscribe beside each sender you no longer want to hear from.

On Android

  1. Open the Gmail app.
  2. Tap Menu.
  3. Tap Manage subscriptions.
  4. Tap Unsubscribe beside each sender you want to remove.

The action is sender by sender: repeat it for every sender you want to leave. Google’s instructions do not describe a one-step option to unsubscribe from all senders.

When to use the Unsubscribe link in a message

If you are handling one particular email, open it and use Gmail’s Unsubscribe option beside the sender. This route may apply only to that individual mailing list. To see a sender’s active subscriptions together and leave all of its active lists, use Manage subscriptions.

Some senders may direct you to their website to complete the unsubscribe request. Follow the sender’s instructions there if Gmail presents that option.

If Manage subscriptions is missing

Google says the feature is gradually rolling out and may not be available in every Gmail account yet. If you do not see it, try the per-message Unsubscribe option when Gmail displays it. If that takes you to the sender’s site, complete the request there.

What happens after you unsubscribe

A sender may take a few days to process the request, so messages might continue to arrive during that time. Google says new emails from a sender you unsubscribed from through Manage subscriptions go to Spam. If a wanted message lands there, open it and choose Report not spam to move it back to your inbox.

Unsubscribing is different from blocking

Blocking a sender does not remove you from its mailing list. It routes future messages from that sender to Spam. Use Unsubscribe to request removal from a mailing list; use blocking only when you want future mail from the sender filtered to Spam.
