GH_ROAST.ai is a small, playful web app. You enter a GitHub username and pick Roast or Toast. The author, who posts on DEV Community as egor6711, says it analyzes the profile’s repositories and code activity and generates a joke verdict. This piece covers what the author says it does, what it’s built with, and what the public pages don’t tell you.
What GH_ROAST.ai does
In a DEV Community post dated September 29, 2026, the author calls it a “fun micro-project.” They say it analyzes GitHub profiles and produces roasts (or toasts) based on repositories and code activity. The “3 seconds” in the title is the author’s own claim. Neither the post nor the app page verifies it.
The landing page matches that description. It is branded “GH_ROAST.ai” and has a GitHub username field with Roast and Toast actions. It also shows example roasts and says it was built in 10 days with Next.js and Tailwind. Those are the project’s own statements, not independently verified history. When reviewed on October 5, 2026, it displayed version 1.7.1. Versions and availability can change at any time.
Roast vs. toast
- Roast: the teasing mode, which jokes about the profile.
- Toast: the flattering counterpart, for people who would rather be praised.
Reported tech stack
The author lists these technologies:
- Next.js (App Router)
- Tailwind CSS
- Web Audio API
- Canvas API
The last two suggest sound and graphical effects in the interface, but the sources don’t describe exactly how they are used.

What isn’t documented
Neither page says which AI model or provider generates the text. They also don’t explain how profile data is fetched, whether anything is stored, or what the privacy practices are. Output quality and uptime are likewise unverified. Because the tool reads public profile activity by design, treat it as a toy: use a public username you’re comfortable having analyzed, and don’t assume anything about data handling beyond what the author publishes.

The author also invited readers to leave a username in the post’s comments, with the line “Drop your GitHub username in the comments below, and I will roast your profile!” When the post was reviewed it had no top-level comments. The app page also displays a support/donation link, but no paid plans were found.
